How to get the most out of MNSSHP

LoriZH--
We're going on Oct 5--I don't mind at all picking you up an extra map. Please PM me :)
I DO have a favor to ask--since you're going after me I just might ask you to pick up any maps I forget or lose--I'm trying my hand at scrapbooking for the first time :)

EDIT--you know what, I do recall seeing a MNSSHP map here at DIS before, maybe on the big MNSSHP sticky thread at the top?

Here's a link to the map of MNSSHP:http://wdwig.com/hallow1.jpg

dturner....This is the only time we will be at the MK during our vacation, do you think we can still ride (most of the rides) during this party or is it just too crowded?Yes you should be able to get them all in.

Do they sell things like T-shirts that say MNSSHP or any souveniors just for this event?Yes they do.They also have buttons to buy for about $2.

I don't think you'll be disappointed at all.It's a unique and fun exprience IMHO!:D

Thanks Balloo for your response, I've also read your message thread above and am really excited to add this to our vacation this year.

Thinking it will be hot at the beginning of October, I bought some Halloween T-shirts that glow in the dark for $4.00 at Target yesterday to be our costumes. Really cute shirts, they even have one with a Pirate on it - made me think of POTC!!

I had a REALLY LONG reply and my silly PC went oingo boingo on me and it posted part of it and LOST the rest....waaaaaaaaah!!!

I don't have time right now but I'll be back later ,hopefully I'll remember all I lost! OY!

Can anyone confirm that you can get into MK early with the MNSSHP ticket? How early can you get in? And, assuming I've understood this correctly, you can get in early without using a day off the PH, right?

If we can get in early, we'd like to get to MK as early as possible, but I'd hate to get to MK at 4:00 or 5:00 and find out we can't get in until 7:00!

I love the Target t-shirt idea. I got my kids pumpkin costumes (they're kind of like vests) that they can wear over their clothes - that way they can wear shorts if it's hot! Maybe I can convince DH to wear the t-shirt!LOL

Just to make sure I understand - The park opens for the party at 7:00, but if you're already in the park and have tickets to the party you can stay in? or if you have LTT you can get in earlier for your dinner? What time do they start getting non-party guests out of the park? How do they do that?

You do NOT need regular admission to the parks at all, just the special MNSSHP ones. If you have a dinner PS at LTT between 5 and 7 you are allowed in and can stay--not sure how that works out but I'm just assuming they have a certain area you're allowed to roam around in (and take the pics) before 7:00 :) Smae probably goes with CP where you'll be on Main Street until the park opens.

We really lucked out and jumped on the 5:30 LTT PS when they came out (think it was June)

(happy ferret dance)

I think we're going to have to get some of those Target T-shirts (LOVE Target :))!!!!

The park closes at 6; everyone who does not have the special wristband will be asked to depart.

At least, that's how I understand it--this'll be our first WDW trip ever.

If y'all see a Pale Blonde with Grumpy, say howdy!!!

Forgive me if I'm a little thick-skulled...

Can someone clarify for me when we will likely be admitted to MK with MNSSHP tickets?

Here is our situation; We're checking into ASMo on the 31st and not using a PH that day and not making any PS. I assume if we show up at MK at noon that day with MNSSHP tickets, we would not be admitted. Does anyone know how early we can expect to be admitted w/ MNSSHP tickets only, not using our PHs, 2pm? 5pm? Should we just wait until 7pm? In the past I've read on the DIS that people have gotten into MK pretty early and been asked to go back to Fantasyland until the party starts. Anyone been admitted early in the past?

This is a crazy question, but this will be my first year to do the MNSSHP (I've always done MVMCP). Do the adults go for the candy also? Or isn't that just a thing for the kids?

Bianca

What does your family do the day of the party? Do you spend the whole day at MK or take it easy then go to the party in the evening? We have a 4yr old ds and a 5 yr old dd.

LadyLt-
YES, the candy is given out to the adults too! If you dress in costume you will be treated just like any of the other kids. Best of all - it is really great candy. We purchased the plastic pumpkins with mouse ears [they are great] at the stroller shop as we entered the park around 5:00 PM. They are a great size to hold all your treats plus make wonderful decorations for future years - they were a challenge to take home on the plane as they would not fit inside any of our luggage so we hand carried them home.

Everyone is given a halloween bag, so you have something for candy. We went last year (2 adults) and found that we wern't given as much candy as the kids (which is fine). We didn't spend a lot of time doing this, and did not hit every place. We were dressed up.

You may be able to get in as early as 4 or 5 pm, but I am not sure. My adivce, manchurianbrownbear, is to call Disney directly and ask them.

Good luck and have fun! We'll be there on Halloween!

Is there any concensus on when (what time, i.e. 5, 6??) you can get into the party with only the MNSSHP pass? Just curious as we will ONLY be doing MNSSHP this trip and would like to get the most for our money!

We went last year and I positively know that we were allowed in at 4pm with just our tickets to the party. We did have LTT reservations but noone asked for our confermation. In fact, they had CMs directing people with party tickets only to one entrance so they could get wristbands and people with regular tickets to another entrance since the park did not close til 6. They were also already handing out the trick or treat bags at the party entrance.

We have a PS at LTT for 6:15. Do you think that is too late to eat? I don't want to miss a lot of the activities. I thought we would try to arrive at MK at 4:30 or 5:00, but I don't know if they'll let us in with just our MNSSHP tickets.

I asked at Disney reservations and Disney dining, but they did not know.

Any one who's been before have any suggestions?? We could cancel our PS at Liberty Tree and just eat at our resort, but I thought with the PS at 6:15 it might get us in eary and to the back of the park??

Thanks to all who have given such great advice!! I've been copying and making a doc. with all the great suggestions!

Anymore out there???

DH and I will be attending our first MNSSHP (10/10) and sounds like it will be a blast!!
Thought we might head over to the MK in the early afternoon, say 4 or 5 (we have AP's) and hang out until the party. Maybe grab a bite to eat somewhere (fast food-ish). If we arrive before they are handing out wristbands and such, is there somewhere else we can pick them up in the park?

We have a ps for dinner (first seating time @ Tony's 5pm) and just stay in the park. Get pictures done first, watch second parade and just ride as much as time lets us. It's fun to ride in the dark! ooooooooohhhhw It's holloween! hehehehehehe!!!

WE are so looking forward to 10/30/03!!!!!

The way I understand it, the reason for them beginning to let people in for the party after (or at?) 4:00 is so that there is not such a huge rush of people through the gates at 7:00. That being the case, Disney would not tell people in advance that they could get in early. If they did, they would have a huge rush of people at 4:00! Most people (not DISers) with just tickets for the party will be there for 7, because they don't know any better. So just don't give away that secret to anyone you don't like ;)
Also, when I made my PS for LTT, the CM on the phone read this standard spiel that 'we would be escorted to the restaurant, and then escorted back to the gate after dinner'. I suspect (and sincerely hope) that this is also a crock. But again, it may be their way to prevent people from getting PSs just to gain entry into the park early. I guess we will all have to find out when the time comes!

Wow, when I made my PS for LTT, I wasn't told all that. She just said that after dinner, we can go to an area that is roped off just for MNSSHP to wait until it's time for the party to start. Our PS is 5:30 pm. Our plane is supposed to be landing around 1:00 so I intend to head straight to MK from MCO. We'll see what happens.
