How to get free stuff from Disney

I agree with Soupermom as well......a lie is a lie! I wouldn't be able to enjoy the popcorn either!!!! I saw a CM give a little girl another Mickey bar when she dropped hers and her parents yelled you aren't getting another one! The CM told her it was from Mickey, I thought that was really nice. She actually did drop it though.

That breaks my heart. Maybe I'm a softie, but if my daughter dropped her ice cream, I'd just buy her another. It's only a couple of bucks and you are on vacation to enjoy time together, not to yell at your kids. That was awesome of the CM.

I certainly DON'T advise doing this, but when DS fell -- head-first -- onto the track for the sliding glass door in our room at SSR, he needed 10 stitches. DD and I told the story to a Guest Relations CM at MK because we didn't know whether we'd be able to keep our PS for later that evening. The CM turned around and gave us a voucher for a small stuffed Stitch doll to give to DS. I didn't even get the joke (a Stitch for getting stitches) until I was telling DH the story later that day.

Now please don't go encouraging your children to hurt themselves (or lie about hurting themselves) just to get a free Stitch, OK?

The hotels give out free activity books and crayons for kids. My students love the free mickey stickers they give out at the resorts and parks

I ask the cashiers at the resort food courts for paper bags (lunch size) to take item's back to our room. When I tell them that I use the bags at home to pack DD's school lunches in, they always give me extra. The bags are/or used to be cute with a big Mickey head and a lot of small park logo's all over in purple and green. I will also take home extra napkins from restaurants that have a logo printed on them, like sci-fi, ESPN, 50's primetime ect... I put those in the lunch bags too. It brings back some magic for the girls when they're back at school!

My DD is a juvenile diabetic and during the summer months her hands swell terribly from the heat. One day in the AK her hands were so bad, I stopped and asked a CM if I could take some of the ice out of the tub that was holding the spray bottles. She asked if I intended to eat it and I said no that I just wanted it to put on my DD's hands. When she saw how swollen her hands were she immediately offered her an ice cold bottle of water at no charge. I offered to pay for the water but she said that she could "write it off" for a medical reason. My DD really appreciated her kindness and I made it a point to stop a manager later in the day and tell him about the young lady and her thoughtfulness.

When youngest was about 18 mos. old we were in MK for the MVMCP and she had a meltdown during the parade. Dh was doing his best to console her, and we were planning on leaving as soon as the parade was over as my preschooler was totally into it. So Dh is walking baby, she's still crying, preschooler is happily enjoying the parade, I'm stressing w/DH, and this very kind young CM appeared out of nowhere and asked us if we were having fun. Well, it was obvious...he returned in a few minutes with a large box of brownies and cookies to share with everyone around us! He gave us front of the line passes to use the next day and counter service vouchers too! Everybody was happy then!

To the OP- Not passing judgment, but I think it's much more special when we let Disney surprise us their magic rather than us scheming to get it...

We were in MGM a few years back. My than 7 yr old son threw up all over himself ( he is handicapped) they brought us into the first aid room and than gave him a new MGM tshirt. They were great...

I don't agree on the popcorn issue either....

Back in 2002 for our first MNSSHP my then 6 year old was Christmas Belle for Halloween. DH was the Beast. We were trick or treating and my DD didn't feel well.

At about 9:00p we were going through Fantasyland and both my DDs asked if we could watch the Sword being pulled out. We were watching and all of the sudden my 6 year old jumped out of the stroller and to my DH and said she felt sick and he picked her up and she threw up all over herself and DH. DH threw his costume away (he had clothes on underneath thankfully) and DD was crying and throwing up. She was so sad that her pretty dress had throw up on it. I went into the Tink store to look for an outfit or pajamas for her to wear and this wonderful CM helped me find something in her size. It ended up being a Tink T-shirt and Tink- sweat pants. It took awhile for her to find something that would fit her. She even looked in the back. So she went to the register to bag the stuff and she told me I was all set. She knew my DD threw up all over her costume and would NOT take any money from me.

We then changed her into this outfit and she begged us to stay for the second parade but she feell asleep. She then was sick all night. We believe it was the Norwalk virus and my younger DD had the exact same thing a day later.

This CM helped save our MNSSHP night for at least another hour or so.

These are the great 'free' unexpected things I LOVE about Disney. Not the ones where we try and get the free stuff from them; it's just not the same.

Yes, this was my favorite souvenir was a kid. Going back to school with lunch bags from the actual WDW was quite fun.
