We are planing 1.5 days at Epcot. Thought of going for a round of mini golf after our half day at Epcot. We'll be taking disney transportation. What is the best and shortest way to get from Epcot to Wintersummerland?

Winter-Summerland is located at Blizzard Beach.
  • The bus from Epcot to Coronado Springs also goes to BB. It usually makes all 4 stops at CS before going to BB, so plan on a 30-minute ride, in addition to wait time.
  • That same bus will also be your route back to your resort if you finish golfing late. Buses from BB to the resorts stop running about 30 minutes after BB closes, but the bus to Epcot continues to run until W-S closes. You would take the bus from BB to Epcot, and then bus or monorail from Epcot to your resort.

FYI, WDW's other miniature golf course, Fantasia Gardens, is walking distance from Epcot.
  • You would exit Epcot thru International Gateway, Epcot's back gate located between GB & France in World Showcase. I think it's close to a mile walk to FG, which is across the street from the Swan Hotel. Or you could take the boat from IG to the Swan.
  • To get back to your resort, you would take a bus from the Swan to any open park or DTD, and then transfer to your resort. For Poly, it would be bus to MK and then monorail, if MK is still open.

Caution: The bus from (Epcot) to (Coronado Springs) does not necessarily go right back to (Epcot) to repeat the same route. If the bus destination sign does not alternately flash "Blizzard Beach", then you should ask the driver, and/or get off at (Coronado Springs) and transfer to a Blizzard Beach bus.

(parentheses) This is applicable to any park and any resort respectively.

True, always tell the bus driver where you are going if your destination is not shown on the marquee. Never assume a bus is going somewhere it "usually" goes, as routes can be altered due to crowding or buses filling up.

Unless it has changed in the past year (always a possibility), buses leaving Epcot for CS afternoon & evening also go to BB, and will show BB on the marquee. Buses leaving Epcot for CS in the a.m. will generally stop at BB upon passenger request.

Thanks for the advice and the tip on Fantasia Garden. The reason why I did not think of Fantasia Garden is because I read that it is a more diff course compared with Wintersummerland. But since it is nearer Epcot, maybe we should consider that :)

:thanks: noted. Will definitely ask :)

The discussion on the international gateway reminds me that if we exit Epcot from there, we'll get to Beach Club quite quickly. Will it be any better if we catch a bus to blizzard beach from BC? My concern is whether there will be few buses going blizzard beach from the resorts in the afternoon.

Fantasia Gardens is a wonderful course...at least the mini-golf course is. I love playing there, and all the families I see playing there seem to be really enjoying it as well.

I think that if you take a bus to BB to get to Winter/Summerland, in the afternoon, you will be fine. Shouldn't be an issue at all!!!

There are just fewer buses in general running in the afternoon, but the frequency should be the same from Epcot or a resort: about every 20 minutes.

Traveling from a resort to BB in the afternoon, you should let the driver know, even if the marquee shows BB. If you don't, you may not get to BB until after the bus goes to DAK. If you tell the driver you're going to BB, they may drop you at BB before DAK.

FG has 2 courses: 1 is designed to resemble a scaled-down version of a real golf course, and is difficult; the other is a traditional mini-golf course of average difficulty.

W-S has 2 traditional mini-golf courses. I think they are both a bit easier than average.
