How to get discounts for Universal Hotels?

Okay, I am a serious planner and want the best price! We are going on a Disney cruise on Oct 16th and want to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter on the 15th. But the best price for a Universal Hotel for the night of the 14th that I am finding right now is $269 for the Royal Pacific. So two questions:

1. Is that going to be the best price or where do I look for discounts?
2. Is getting in early and being on the property worth the higher price? We want to make the most of our time since we only have one day.

That is a pretty fair price--I paid more than that seven years ago--book it and change it if the rates go down.

That one-hour headstart for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter makes all the difference in the world, as it gets gridlocked after the official opening. And the front-of-the-line privileges you get for non-Harry Potter rides makes staying at the RPR the single biggest advantage you can have. The RPR pool is pretty good too.

About the only discount you can get for a 1 night stay would be APH.

Oct.14th is on a Friday(HHN will be going on). I would think that price
will go up for a 1 night stay on a weekend night in Oct.

After registering on their website I recieved a pin code for 30% this fall. I could not use it since were not going until the spring, but I'm hoping they send me another one.
