How to get back to MCO

Hi everybody! Here's my question- next month, DH, kiddo's and I are heading to WDW. Our vacation starts there and ends at my inlaws who live in FL. We will be renting a car at the end of our WDW portion of vacation at the Alamo Car Care Center (really good deal BTW!). Anyway, when we drop the car off at the end of vacation, do they offer transportation to the airport or is there another way to get to MCO from Alamo? Should I just pay a little extra and drop it off at the airport? :confused3 Thanks!

You probably want to change your reservation to drop the car @ MCO. Your other choices, assuming you are not staying at a Disney hotel that last night, would be to take a cab from the CCC, transfer to a hotel using the CCC shuttle and then paying for the Mears shuttle, a private car, or something like Uber. Those seem to me to be not worth the hassle unless the rate was hugely cheaper. Your time is worth it!

I think that any money you save by returning the car to the CCC, will be negated by having to get transportation back to MCO! I would just return the car to MCO....you may have to cancel your current rental and rebook though.

I would run the figures and watch rates for MCO to MCO rental the entire time, and then to return to MCO.
No transfers are available, but it has to be less expensive to return it to the airport then a car service. Less running around too.

Their shuttle is only on site.

One way out there thought, why not check with WDW ME to se if your return ride could be a different day then leaving their site? Explain about the car return, it couldn't hurt.

Thanks for the replys. I checked Mears pricing and it's still quite expensive just to go from the CCC to MCO so I went ahead for now and changed the drop off to MCO. Around $100 additional to drop it off there instead of CCC but with 2 kids under the age of 2, it will be lots easier!!

Will continue to check Alamo. Who know, prices may drop more!

Have you checked to see what it will cost to rent the car from Alamo when you arrive at the airport and keep it for your whole trip? You get free parking at your resorts and the parks and with 2 little ones it might be nice to be able to run out to Walgreens or Publix if you need something.

Another thought.... Have you or your husband take ME to the airport on your checkout day and pick up the car, then head back to your resort to pick up the rest of the family before heading to the in-laws.

I rented a car from Alamo at the Dolphin when we stayed at BWI in August. I had planned to pick up the car there and return it there. When I picked it up, the Alamo rep asked if I wouldn't prefer returning it to MCO. I asked if that would be an upcharge and she said it would not. I asked when I had to let them know and she said to call a day before and all would be fine. We ended up choosing to return it to MCO and the price was as promised. My guess is that they needed to get more cars to the airport on that day, so it was good for them. I know the OP wants this all settled before they go, but it's certainly possible the price will change to make dropping off at a different location economical.

Originally, I had booked the car pickup from MCO upon arrival but then found out about the CCC. It's actually $300 more to rent at the airport plus an additional 2 days! So much cheaper to rent from a remote location vs. airport (sort of crazy if you ask me!!). :confused3

Special pricing, when you can rent the car at Disney and return it at the airport with no extra charge, they come and go. Keep checking back.
