How to fix this shirt?

Hi, all. I wasn't sure where to ask this, but I figured the experts are on this board. I'm not crafty at all and have never looked into making shirts, but our daycare provider made one as a gift for my daughter. She has not worn it yet, but I did wash it (regular wash and dry, inside out, no fabric softener). Now some of the lettering is starting to come off a bit (shirt on the left - the top of the "I" is the biggest issue):



I am clueless how to fix this. Any suggestions, other than bringing it back and asking our daycare provider?

Actually there isn't anything you can do except use a black sharpie and fix the I.. You didn't do anything by washing and drying it. I think she may have not ironed long enough in that area to press the letters down.

Thanks so much! I'm glad that I didn't do anything to cause it. Bummer that it's coming off, though. Hopefully it will just be that little area and nothing more. And, if nothing else, we do have a black Sharpie.

It will probably not work but you could always try to re-iron it on. Preheat your iron on second to highest setting for 8 to 10 minutes, cover iron on transfer area with parchment paper (be sure to cover all of it so the iron will not stick to any areas) and then re-iron that area. It may be worth a try.

Thanks, if I have time, I might give it a shot. Will any parchment paper do or does it have to be something special for transfers?

Any parchment paper will do. You can find it in either the baking or foil aisle in the grocery store.
