How to find last minute DVC availability?

New to DVC boards. I was checking out the rent/trade but it seems very specific and like i said i am new to these boards.

Wondering where i can find out if there is any last minute availability. We are family of 5 so i heard AKV can accomodate us.

Any direction would be helpful.

You can call Disney's Central Reservations Office (CRO) and see what's available to book for cash at a WDW resort or DVC resort.

A Saturday night stay even in a DVC studio villa on this holiday weekend requires close to 30 points & is probably unavailable at this point and also, jmho, it would probably be difficult to find a DVC member to rent a DVC points reservation from on such short notice because of time needed to receive payment from you and also because of DVC's cancellation policies concerning points reservations for villas. If you and the member have PayPal then you might have a better chance getting a member to work with you.

If you are a DVC member wanting a reservation using your points you would just call MS and ask. If you are not a member you have two options - call CRO or look online at disney.com for availability of cash reservations ... OR ... post your dates, resort and type of villa on the DVC Rent/Trade Board to see if a member can assist. Be aware that last minute availability can be very limited and even if there is availability a member may expect payment in full before making a reservation since there would be a penalty for the member if a reservation was made and then the renter opted out of the arrangement.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. NO i am not a DVC member. We might do the tour when we are there in 2 weeks.

I do have a Paypal account.

Was i correct with AKV sleeping 5? We really wanted to try BCV but i thought i read it sleeps 4 unless you get a 2 bedroom?

The standard AKV 1 bdrm can sleep 5 -- make sure you specify that you don't want the value 1 bdrm, which only sleeps 4.
