How to entertain 18 month old in line

Ah boys! I have a little man who just turned two! this is one that I'm kind of leery of. He too is a screecher...I'm gonna load up on snacks coloring book/crayons and he loves watching videos. so fingers crossed we luck out! we have been actively prepping him. lol by watching you tube videos of the parks, rides, character etc.

I would work on trying to get him OK with a carrier before your trip. You can find used Ergos for like $50 if you keep your eyes out for them. We used ours so very much during our Disney trip. My daughter was a little older (23 months) but she still kept running off while waiting in lines. But I just put her in the Ergo and we had a decent block of time before she started getting fussy. We also did our FP+s for the mid morning (at the time we planned on going back after lunch but only did that one day). So a lot of the time when we were waiting in longer lines it was around the time she was sleepy and she'd fall asleep in the Ergo.

DD is usually not good for waiting in lines, but we went to Magic Kingdom back in July when she was 23 months, and she did great. She stood patiently in some rather long waits. She had fun people watching, looking at all the decor in line. We talked to her about what she was seeing and what we were about to do. We also brought a dollar tree foam blade fan and let her play with that ( we supervised her closely to make sure she didn't get her hair stuck in it). I swear that fan entertained her better than anything else could have brought.

We also had fruit snacks and lolipops in case she needed a little sugar rush. Vacation crappy eating doesn't count :cool1:

Cheerios!

As someone mentioned, I think that you will be surprised by how enthralled they are with other kids. Oftentimes the older kids will talk to and entertain the little kids. We also let my daughter bring her doll everywhere and that helped for some of the lines. We also didn't really go on anything that had too long of a line. Finally, WDW has done a lot to make the queues interesting whether it's visually or interactive. So there is a lot to point out to your child.

Since no one mentioned it, glow sticks are a cheap / light option and good for waiting at night (parades)
