How to do monorail loop from elsewhere?

We're staying at the ASMu and plan to spend our first evening exploring the GF, Poly, and Contemporary via the monorail (with late dinner PS at Chef Mickey's). I know we have to take the bus from ASMu, but to where?? Do we get off at the Magic Kingdom (I don't want to enter MK and use up a day of the PH), or at the TTC? Are there any logistical snarls that I should be aware of? Thanks a lot.

I think the best thing is to take the bus to the MK. The monorail entrance is outside the entrance to the MK so you won't have to go in and use up a day of your pass.

There are two monorail routes. You can catch the first at MK and ride it all the way around and then exit at the TTC and catch the Epcot monorail and get a free preview of Epcot as you pass through. You can then return to TTC and get the MK monorail to whatever resort you want to visit. We love to start our trip with the monorail ride.

JORDAN'S MOM.....YOUR REPLY WAS HELPFUL TO ME ALSO. PLAN TO RIDE THE MONORAIL WITH OUR FIVE YEAR OLD GRANDSON. THANKS FOR A CLEAR, CONCISE ANSWER!!

The AS busses go directly to MK gate and you can start your monorail trip there (you don't need to enter park). The real issue you have is getting back. Busses from MK to AS run only to about an hour after MK's closing time. If you end your resort hopping that late, you will need to find another route and if it is also after Epcot has closed you will not be able to catch a bus at Epcot by taking monorail over to there. Your options become limited if those parks are closed and for trip back by bus you need to take one of the MK resort busses to Downtown Disney and then the AS bus from there -- a trip that can usually take over an hour and often close to 2. Therefore if you do leave too late to get a direct bus back from the park consider getting a cab back from one of the MK resorts.

Woof! Thanks, drusba, for letting me know that. I'd planned to use the buses and have no desire to wait at DTD. The cab doesn't sound terrible, though.
