Hi! I just came across your PTR. I'm looking forward to reading more about your planning, and of course the trip when you return.

You'll be leaving the day that we are getting there.

Love it!! This is my first time subscribing to a pre-trip report (usually I like to skip right to the trip, haha).

Yea! :woohoo:

I am honored that you are subbing to my trip report. I will try to post some pictures in a bit to let you know why I have been so quiet lately. I have been busy, busy, busy getting ready for this trip. :rolleyes1

Thanks for reading! Please stick around!

Hi! Welcome! :)

Uhh-oh. Your DD has been bitten by the horse bug??? Watch out...as you know, horses aren't a hobby. They are a lifestyle! ;)

Glad to hear your DD is getting her horse turned around. It takes a lot of time and dedication, but it seems to me that she has that. Is there any trainer in the area that may help her with her horse in exchange for help around the farm? We are looking for some part time help here on our farm in exchange for board and some free lessons...too bad LA. to GA. is too long of a commute for her. lol

Welcome!! Please keep reading. :)

I have been busy working on some "surprises" for the kiddos. Stick around. I will try to post pictures after the kids go to bed tonight of why I have been MIA here.

Just a few more weeks for both of us...

Okay. The kiddos are outside with their daddy. That gives me a few minutes to share the pictures I took of all the goodies that Tinkerbell will be leaving the kids while we are at Disney.

Here is the Disney "Treasure Box":

Here are the lanyards and our dining punch cards. I bought the lanyards for 99 cents at Home Depot (while I was there "borrowing" alien green mickey heads. ;) I bought a pack of 10 ID badge protector sheets at the dollar store and added 2 to each lanyard. The punch cards are to help us keep up with how many Disney credits we have used during our trip. Maybe I should have done a Disney Dining Calorie punch card to keep up with the calories we have to walk off while we are there. :lmao:

These are the autograph books I made for my two boys. DD thinks she won't need one now that she is a middle schooler and too grown up. However, I'd hate for her to be left out, so after some consideration I have decided that I need to go ahead and make one for her too, just in case. I just need to decide how to make her's more grown up. ;)

Here are some dollar store finds. The little round packets have a Mickey Mouse washcloth in them. We will use them at the parks for a quick cool down. I'll throw them in a ziplock and when the kids get too hot, we will run them under the water at the water fountain and viola...they'll be ready for more hours of Disney magic.

The notebook and pens are for DD...just because they seemed cool. :3dglasses

More dollar store goodies...lots of glow sticks, candy, trinkets, etc.:

I am making the kids "Passports" for Disney (thanks again to the DISigners here). I decided to make them smaller and have them sprial bound so we can clip them to the lanyards. I took the design that was posted, and used only 2 pages for each country to make it a little lighter for the kids. In the picture, I haven't had it bound yet... and sorry it's kinda blurry. :confused3

Finally, we have made a few shirts. I messed a few up trying to figure this shirt making thing out...but I think I finally got it down to a science. ;) Here are a few that I made with my DD:

Oh and one more thing....I bought more snow cone mix and cups when they went on sale at Target the other day. We will be bringing our snow cone machine. I thought that would be a nice treat after a long day at the parks each evening. I think I should have bought more.

Awesome purchases!

I plan on stopping by the dollar store and making up gift bags for the boys for the trip. They'll get one on the way down, and one on the way back.

I saw that you are south of Atlanta. We're north of Atlanta. About 35 miles. Where are you?

Hi there!

We are in Newnan. Just off 85. We have been here for about 8 years. :)

I have family in Buckhead, though and some in Decatur. Where are you?

Hey Shauna!

I just had to subscribe to your PTR. First of all, you have a beautiful family and a beautiful dedication to them. I have an 18 month old boy and a 5 yr old girl and the thought of twin boys just makes me tired.:worship:

I also had to subscribe when I saw where you're from and where you live now. I'm originally from Ga (about 30 min from Newnan in Carrollton) and now I live in Al ( only about 1 hr from Newnan in Auburn). I love getting to read "local" PTRs and TRs.

Your plans sound great and all of the surprises you have planned for your family sound great. POR is great. We stayed there on our honeymoon 10 yrs ago.

Anyway, keep up with the good work and the great planning. I can't wait to read more. Oh, and the farm is beautiful. We left ours when we moved here and I miss it (just not the part of Alabama where it was :scared1: )

Must go to bed now, you've kept me up past my bedtime.

Thanks for reading! How cool that you are from this area! Funny thing, my dad, step-mom, sister, bil and step brother all live in AUBURN. Who knows, you could all be neighbors!

If you haven't been to the Newnan area in a while, you wouldn't recognize it. It's growing so fast. Carrollton isn't growing AS fast, but it's gone through some changes just in the 8 years that I have lived around here.

Anyway, thank you for reading and all the kind words...keep reading. I'll try to be informative, entertaining, and interesting. ;)

What on earth was I thinking?

I decided to have a yard sale. Seemed like a good idea. I could just drag all my junk out to the yard, and let folks pay me to haul it off.

HA!

Since it's been years since I had a yard sale, we have a ton of junk. Our attic is totally floored and runs the length of our house...so we have been holding on to stuff that we should have tossed a long time ago. And to make things worse, I am a teacher....and teachers are known for looking at a piece of junk and saying "oooh, hang on to that. I may be able to use that later." But "later" never comes. :confused3

So, we have been pricing and cleaning and organizing this sale all week. My goal is to make a little bit of Disney Fun Money this weekend, but I am a bit concerned about the weather. We have a 30% chance of rain.

Either way, NOTHING is coming back in the house one it's put in the yard sale. I have put in a call to a charity that picks up unsold yard sale stuff.

Any tips on how to have a great sale?

Check back soon for the results. :)

good luck!! we are participating in the community yard sale next month, and i can't wait! I'm hoping to make some good Disney money. I'm selling all of my baby furniture (crib, dresser, changing table, high chair, etc) so I'm hoping that that will help me make a good amount.

Can't wait to hear how you do!

Wow! That's so cool that you have family here. We've been here about 2 yrs and we love it. We were just in Newnan a couple of weeks ago. Since my brother is in Atlanta and my parents are in Carrollton, it's kind of a good spot for us all to meet up. You're right, it has changed a lot. Now that I'm thinking about Newnan I'm craving some Sprayberry's bbq and onion rings. OOh, and a choclate shake.

Sounds like you've been working hard on the yard sale. I hope you make lots of Disney fun money.:thumbsup2

Have a great day!

Molly

Love all the Tink gifts - you really got some great loot! You did a great job on the shirts also. I am not very crafty but have been thinking about attempting some shirts of my own.

Good luck with the yard sale! Let us know.

So, today was the yard sale.

We started at 8am and we had "closed up shop" around 12 noon, even though the plan was to run it until 2pm. But we sold almost everything in 4 hours!! I was amazed at how many people showed up because we only advertised online on a free community board. And we didn't put up signs until late last night.

The bad news...I practically gave everything away. I am no good with negotiators. :confused3

Overall, we made about 375.00, which was close to my goal. All of it is going towards the Disney Fund. :thumbsup2

Also, I made a little over 200.00 on my grad school textbooks on Amazon.com this week...again, all going to the Disney Fund.

AND...the biggest and most rewarding financial event of the week...we rented out one of our rental houses. No more paying that mortgage. So, it feels like an additional 900.00 per month in our pockets. (Or should I say "The Mouse's Pocket")

I feel like my own fairy godmother has been working overtime this week. :) :) :) :) :)

Hi there. :)

Go to the creative DISigns board here...they can help you! It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it...but I would plan to mess up at couple of times as you are learning. It's fun...even for us "uncrafty" people.

Just found this! You have a beautiful family and I can't wait to read more.

Wow! Congrats on the yard sale success and all the other additions to the Disney Fund.:thumbsup2
