how to decide which resort to purhase

I want to thank everyone for their help! I really didn't mean to start an arguement between all of you but it does make me understand how much you all take DVC to heart! I've owned timeshare before and I never heard anyone discuss the pros and cons of it as I see it discussed here! And that's why we're interested in joining not just for the WDW vacations but because we know Disney is quality. Again thank you.

I wonder how influential VB & HH have been to prospective DVC buyers. It would make an interesting poll. Maybe DVC would not have as many members if they were not part of the package.

Maybe Disney marketing realized if they offered a few quality off-site resorts, it would provide an answer to the prospects question, Do we want to go to WDW for the next 50 years?

The problems that surfaced in Disneyland taught WDW it must control/own the surrounding land to create the desired Disney atmosphere. I think Disney realized once you build a resort off site, the controlled atmosphere and advantage is gone.
