How to Cancel DVC Contract

You can't "cancel" a DVC contract. You have to sell it if you no longer want to be an owner.

“cancel” meaning you signed a new contract within the last ten days and want to cancel within that recision period?

Someone just posted the snippet from the contract on another thread. Looking for it….

Pasting the portion of the contract that @PolyRob posted in another thread. You may also want to give the courtesy of notifying your guide if you’re going to cancel.

If you decide to cancel this contract, you must notify the developer in writing of your intent to cancel. Your notice of cancellation shall be effective upon the date sent and shall be sent to Disney Vacation Development, Inc., Attention: Quality Assurance at 1936 Broadway, Suite2200, Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830. Your notice of cancellation may also be sent via fax to 407-938-6586 or by e-mail at WDWDVCCancelRequests@Disney.com.

Her husband just lost his job(he showed up this morning at the small plant had a notice on the door). She's hoping he can find another one soon. She said they'll be fine because she has her job even though things will be tight for a little bit. But wanted to thank all of you for you help. You guys are great, thank you.

Be sure they know the date they mail it is what matters. Just have to mail no later than 10 days after signing. The date DVD receives it doesn’t matter.

I’d do it in writing and also call my guide and let them know immediately. If past the 10 days holefully they give some leniency given the situation.

This is assuming that the buyer bought Direct from Disney and not a resale contract.

Yes She did buy direct, but didn't not have the Notary signed yet(just DocuSign).
No, you no longer have to send a letter(but should)according to QA CM(who knew:confused3).
Email was accepted by Quality Assurance.
But I told her to protect her and her husband's money she should follow what everyone suggested.
I personally would never only send email. I would talk to my Guide and mail a registered letter.

To the best of my knowledge you only need to have a purchase agreement notarized for Aulani. I dont know about VDH in Ca.

But if this was a requirement then the contract is not fulfilled and by not notarizing it it will become void.

I assume others can add more info in this regard.

She said was told because it was not notarized that the email was excepted.
And that she did what everyone suggested.
