How to buy resale

Are there reliable sites? I checked the stickies at the top and didn't see anything. I googled and came up with a few different ones, but I didn't know if there is one that everyone prefers.

There are four or five major ones. The timeshare store (that is a board sponsor) is well regarded. Many of us have had good experiences with the others as well. No need to fear resale, the transactions close through a title agency in the same process as a home sale.

All the brokers do is match buyer and seller, and then submit the agreed-upon contract through Disney for the ROFR process. The monetary portions of the transaction are handled through a state licensed escrow and title agency, in the same manner as other real estate sales. All states where DVC exists tightly regulate their timeshare industries and the inherent buy/sell transactions.

The only thing to watch out for- there are a few minor resale companies that have much higher fees than others. Get a feel for the costs involved in closing, etc with the major sites- all of them will state these up front. If an agency's costs seem out of line with the others, don't use their service. Have fun shopping...

We recently entered ROFR and dealt with The Timeshare Shore (the link up at the top of the board). We have had a good experience with them so far and everything has been completed in a professional and timely manner. The agent we dealt with took the time to explain the process to us, find out what we were looking for and gave us some useful insight of his own. They have been good to deal with and we have no regrets.

I sold some DVC points through the Timeshare Store. They were very helpful and always available to answer questions and explain things. It takes longer than buying directly from Disney but will save you money. If I sell or buy points In the future I will use them again.
