We are planning a 4 night disney cruise for our honeymoon in December 2010.

How do you guys book them from the UK?

I am planning on staying at POR for a week then a 4 night cruise, followed by 4 nights at the beach club (probably although I keep changing my mind!) - do you book them all together or have 3 seperate hotel bookings, and will I need 3 key to the world cards or will they just transfer over?

Any booking tips would be greatly appreciated!:)

I always book mine through Dreams Unlimited. They always seem to get me the best price on both accomodations and the cruise plus they can make all of your dining reservations for you!

We always work with Debi Lasher - she always got great deals for me and was incredibly helpful even with my millions of questions!

You have to look at all options how to book, either with Disney.co.uk (this was cheapest option by far this year for us), Disney.com, or an agent like DreamsUnlimtedTravel.com
Might be cheaper to do 1 with each, every holiday is different.

For us this year like I say we have booked with Disney.co.uk, I posted price earlier today, to give you idea of difference here it is again.
We paid £2,164 now about £4000 but .com is £5,680.62 and that only includes a 10 day MYW ticket, ours includes 21 day Ultimates.
Mind boggling prices on .com to me this year.

With the poor exchange rate it doesn't look like booking with .com is a good option just now.

For the cruise I have always booked them direct with disneycruiseline.com but this trip I have used DreamsUnlimtedTravel.com as I got an extra $100 on board credit to spend by booking with them. Prices should be same on all sites but you will get the OBC bonus with DU or other US agents.

Thanks that sound promising I have heard of dreams unlimited before, would I be able to book a cruise (as they are released now) and add on hotel bookings later when they are released, and I suppose if dreams cant match the hotels quote I just keep the cruise with them a book the hotels elsewhere?

Cheers Wayne! Can you book crusies through .uk site and get the price in £'s?

No, only in $.
Not sure if any Cruise agents in UK sell Disney we have always booked direct or with DU.
For Royal Carribean Cruises I have used cruisedirect.com but for Disney direct has been cheaper.

We booked our cruise through Dreams Unlimited, and our flights and hotel room with Virgin. Dreams Unlimted have been great to deal with - they answer emails very quickly (a heck of a lot quicker than Virgin do!!!). DU also book hotels if you wanted another option for that?

I don't know anywhere that will book the cruise in £'s currently, which is a shame with the exchange rate. We paid our cruise off the other day and it cost us £200 more than when we booked it!

Thats what I'm worried about! Best thing to do I suppose is just pay it off the exchange rate starts to slide again!

Our cruise comes to $3,000 paid half off at $2/£1 cost me £750 other half is going to cost about £1,000. Why didn't I take advise off other Dissers and pay it all?:sad1:

I booked ours directly with Disney via email. They were fantastic, really helpful in every way and even let me pick the exact stateroom I wanted (one of the slightly larger midship Cat 3's).

For some reason we never go through travel agents. Guess I'm too much of a control freak. :scared:

I am too! I don't trust travel agents!

We've booked our 2010 cruise with disneycruiseline.com directly.

Last year we used DU for all our Disney vacations and I was quite disappointed with the service we received after all the fabulous recommendations I'd seen on here. Never got an itinerary as promised, no help with booking ADR's, and often had to email several times before I got a response. :guilty:

We are taking our second Disney cruise in October. Both times we have booked through Dreams Unlimited, who have been extremely helpful.

As far as Keys to the World go, as it would essentially be 3 separate reservations at 3 different 'resorts' you would have 3 Key to the World cards - 1 for POR, 1 for the cruise and a final one for Beach Club.

Hi - just wanted add a bit about losing control- I have booked two cruises directly with disney and have recently booked for xmas 2010 through dreams unlimited - they have been absolutely fantastic!!:worship:

I am a bit of a control freak too :goodvibes and dealing with them totally by email (so that I have it all neat and beautifully in writing!!!:rotfl: ) has been fantastic. I told them exactly what I want - even down to the stateroom number (I did give them a few choices but they were able to get my first choice!!) and they answer emails so promptly (infact my TA Tracy even replied to me whilst she was onboard the disney magic repo cruise - now that IS service!!)

I have also given them a list of my hotel requirements (inc any special requests;) ) and they are going to get back to me when the room become available - I can then see which is cheaper - but from what I have heard DU are very competative in this regard as well.

I'm sure whichever option you decide will be fine :lovestruc - we didn't have a problem with booking direct either (although the dcl website can be frustrating at times!!)

I booked with Cruise Compete. They forward your details to various TA's who will try to give you the best quote. I also received a good price for a second cruise from Dreams Unlimited right here on this site, but I wound up not being able to go.

Personally, I think Dreams Unlimited offer a more personalized service and they'll no doubt give you advice on when to get the best deals.

Once you've booked you can sign up to the Disney Cruiseline website and book spa treatments, excursions etc, regardless of who you booked with.

Like Wayne - I'm also finding the UK deals amazing this year for anything Disney related. I almost always went through the .com site to get good deals but it seems like Disney are making it easier for us to go to Florida, now that we're getting a less favourable exchange rate.
