How to avoid after-fireworks rush to the monorail...

The last time we were there, DH and I took the resort monorail back to the TTC. There was barely a line for it, and we were able to get on the first train that arrived. And there was plenty of room to spare on our train. Meanwhile, the line for the express monorail was HUGE.

So we could pick-up a resort monorail and it would just stop at the resorts and then continue on to the TTC? This sounds great!

Yep! I never understood why more people don't consider it as an option. Yes, you have to sit through a few stops before you get to where you want to go, but it certainly beats waiting in a long line.

Yes, and it will stop only at the Contemporary before the TTC.
The loop is MK-Contemp-TTC-Poly-Grand Floridian-MK.

Not a few, just one, the Contemporary. Then the next stop is the TTC.

Why not just hang out at MK for awhile?? Take pics in front of the castle, head to the bridge to Tomorrowland to see if they're "painting" water pictures, browse through the shops on Main St, wait for the "Kiss Goodnight." They'll let you know when you need to head to the exit.

This is exactly what we do. Usually we'll catch the 2nd light parade if there is one. Less people. Then we'll take our time walking out. Browse the shops. We're on vacation and we like to spend as much time in MK that we can get.

the kiss goodnight is a very short light show accompanied by music where the castle turns into different shades while the announcer thanks you for coming and wishes you a good night. It is done about 15 min after official park closing
