We are staying at Bonnet creek, so we still have to ride to the TTC if we use their transportation. We will have our own vehicle. I would love to avoid the hour+ line to get onto the monorail after fireworks at MK. We are thinking of getting park-hoppers, or we could go to another monorail resort for a meal before fireworks? Any ideas? What is the best transportation after the fireworks at MK?

Watch them from Poly Beach, or watch them from the front of MK at Town Square.

We watched the fireworks from the AAA viewing area by Tomorrowland Terrace. After the fireworks, the CM's opened up a back alley and you walked behind the shops, etc. (main street bakery side) and came out by Tony's and then out the entrance.

This saved a lot of time and we went to the ferry and were on it within 5 minutes. It was the fastest, most painless exit we ever did.

Try the ferry. It holds tons of people.

This is unusual and cannot normally be counted on as an exit route.

Is it possible to ferry to the Poly and walk to TTC?

There is a small boat the goes from MK->GF->Poly. The walk from Poly to TTC is short.

I don't believe you can "safely" walk to the TTC from Poly, as I don't think there is an official path. You could walk to Contemporary though, and then monorail to TTC, but that doesn't avoid the monorail issue. Boats may be the best way to go if you are still going to be at MK.

Yes, you can and there is. You are likely confusing the Poly for the Contemporary in this case.

Disregard my post if you read it, I didn't think there was a walk from Poly to TTC. If you are at MK though, boats still might be the best bet.

You can walk from the Poly to TTC, it's done all the time and I think it's basically as safe as walking to and from somewhere can be...it's not like someone trying to walk to TTC from the Contemporary.

I know there are sidewalks (we walked it last year when the monorail broke down, but we were in a rush for our ADR, so I don't remember exactly), not sure if they go the whole way though.

10 ppl. (ages 4 months to 60) made it just fine. Ppl. talk about walking back and forth between the Poly and TTC all the time, so I'm sure it's very safe.

Why not just hang out at MK for awhile?? Take pics in front of the castle, head to the bridge to Tomorrowland to see if they're "painting" water pictures, browse through the shops on Main St, wait for the "Kiss Goodnight." They'll let you know when you need to head to the exit.

I usually go on a few rides if I can or watch the fireworks right at the entrance so I am one of the first in line for the transportation.

We always just find a good place to sit, relax, and talk for about 20-30 min. then just walk out. So much less stressful, and we actually enjoy it ;) The few extra minutes (if you even gain any) are nothing compared to the relaxation you feel by not *fighting* the crowds. ::yes::

I'm with the couple PP's! It might not be the greatest idea if you have little ones but if you can, hang out awhile. Even if the park "closes", the shops and everything on Main Street stay open. Let the crowds go ahead of you, enjoy the sounds and the sights and take your time. By the time you slowly make your way out, the lines will be short! I would much rather spend my time in the park than in line :thumbsup2

(We always watch Illuminations from World showcase for the same reason. It's a lovely stroll to the front of the park and you can avoid the crowds)

We head straight to TTA get in a few rounds then exit the parks without much of a wait for monorail or trams. We learned this with tired little ones who we were afraid we might lose if we took on the crowd on main street.

This past Friday I exited after the fireworks, during the, whatever it is they call the projections on the castle. Main Street was filled but the sidewalk on the left side, as you leave, was clear because the trees block a clear view of the castle from there. I went down to the ferry's and found the biggest crowd I have ever seen there. I thought for sure it was going to be a long wait, but we filled up one of them with room to spare, no problem at all. Now the trams were a different story. For some reason they had decided to only use the "villains" parking lot so things got backed up there. It took 5 trams to get out. It would have gone faster but the lawyer driven system that required those damn doors on the trams along with having to sit and wait to hear the safety instructions in what seemed like 57 different languages, took forever. Seems like it should be easy to create a safety warning. All they have to say is sit down, keep your arms in or you will possibly fall out and get run over by the rest of the tram or lose an arm on the way, should suffice. If they are still stupid enough to do that stuff, well, that's what we used to call the thinning of the herds.

Leaving MK, I have also at times used the resort monorail. There were way fewer people waiting and it stops at the TTC just like the express monorail.

This is what I would do :thumbsup2

I wish there was a "like" button for this post.

My husband and I also like to sit on Main Street and people watch. It's really fascinating to see all the different types of people leaving WDW. One of my favorite videos is just of the crowd leaving.

I'm weird but it's interesting to me! :) :goodvibes
