How to add dietary restrictions to ADRs?

I made my ADRs before knowing what our restrictions will be during our trip (due to some upcoming allergy testing and possible gluten intolerance).

Now that I know our restrictions, I am trying to add them onto my ADRs on MyDisneyExperience but I can't figure out how to do it. The only way I could was to make a new reservation. For 2 of the meals though, there is no availability for a new reservation. I am unwilling to cancel it and hope it is still there to remake.

can anyone help me?

I had the same problem. Made ADRs, remembered to add dietary restrictions to some, forgot on others, wasn't able to edit it in later.

If you call Disney dining, they should be able to add it for you. Don't cancel the reservation!

Barring that, when you arrive at the restaurant, speak with the staff and the chef will come out to you to find out your restrictions.

It won't let you add them on MDE. There's a number you can call, separate from the Dining Reservation number that will make a notation on all your ADRs. I don't know the number but if you search I'm sure you can find it.

Your results may vary, but although we make some ADR's, we generally don't and just let them know when we check in that there is a party with allergies. We've never had any problems concerning our dairy, egg, tree nut peanut allergic DD14 with letting them know at that time. If you have any allergies out of the top 8, there probably is an advantage, but with DD14, we have never noticed one in letting them know beforehand. There may be one in the speed a chef comes out and sees you since they will know we are coming. Also, although we have never made a specific request, some have posted that they have been able to contact the chef directly to make specific requests in advance.

It provides information about what they can handle 'on the fly', and what they need more advance notice about, as well as procedures for requesting special meals, the e-mail address to contact, etc. Hope that helps!
