My family usually has been going to Disney every year. My wife, while she enjoys Disney, is not as obsessed as myself and the kids. Anyway, she did agree to do a 7 night trip. We were booked at the WL, which has been our favorite resort. We went and had a great time. But, we now have 3 kids and the youngest just doesn't like the crib anymore. So it became very tight. So for the last 2 nights we switched to the Poly. The room was much more spacious. But, the kicker for her was the pool/beach area. While the WL has a beach it was a short walk to the pool. Whereas, at the Poly its right next to each other. So the kids could be in the pool and on the beach and she could keep an eye on them. One night. I took the older two kids to the MK and she stayed behind at Poly and watched Wishes and the water parade from the beach. She said it was great. My youngest played in the sand and enjoyed the fireworks. She is so into this place she has been discussing when we could go back. She says its the perfect mix for our vacations. She knows I won't go to a beach resort and sit at a beach for a week. I know she won't go to Disney and hang out at the park all day for a week. With the Poly we get the best of both worlds. :cool1:

Amen. My wife enjoys WDW, but not as much as I do or our kids. The trade off is she gets the Poly's beach. We ususally split our stay between two resorts. One is always the Poly.

Oh, I love it! Your story was darling! And congrats on the newest addition to your family -- your wife (she is now an official member of your Disney-Loving family).

My dh isn't as into WDW as dd and I are. But when we stayed at the Polynesian in '03, he actually suggested buying DVC!!! He isn't a 'sitting on the beach' kind of guy so WDW fits our needs. He goes once a year or so, dd and I go more often. Thank-you Polynesian!!!

Great compromise!

P.S. We go to the Jersey Shore for our vacation every year! And you leave the Jersey shore to go to Disney? :confused3
