[I will say that] there are three things on which every health professional and diet guru agree, and those are working for me: portion control, nutritional balance, exercise.

As much as I'm NOT a Star Jones fan...I'm rather conflicted...she sounds almost human in this article...not the witch she usually is about her weight loss.

That was a really good article - she sure does sound human!

yep! I mean - she glossed over the subject in a few areas...but in the past when asked about her weight/weight loss...she's get REAL WITCHY about it and turn into uber-diva.

Hopefully she can give hope to others...you know?

the most recent edition of People had ALOT of "how I slimmed down" articles...all through one "normal eating' diet or another...not surgery...how the 'survivor diet' wrecked some of the contestants...was pretty interesting...and enlightening.

I still think she needs to re-think her eyebrow shape! hehehe...but that's JMO!

When I saw her on the televised Disney Parade, I couldn't believe it was her. She looks like a different person.

I think she looks good in the red dress. Too thin in the blue shirt.

I agree - they are a little scary! :teeth:

Yes, I liked her in the middle picture in the three set. But I'm happy that she's happy.

Was a good article. I was surprised to read they were celibate until they got married. I don't know why. I guess because most people their age are not.

her body looks great in the first pic. the main thing that bothers me now is her eye makeup and eyebrows - two things that are much easier to fix than weight loss! ;)

So it sounds like she had a surgical procedure to jump-start her weight loss (gastric bypass?), then used portion control to lose the rest of the weight. I am not an advocate of surgery, but I’m glad she has lost the weight so she won’t get the associated health issues she spoke of in the article.

I really think that she did have some sort of gastric bypass or stomach banding or other radical surgery.

She is a really obnoxious person - IMHO!

This exchange between her and her husband says so much (even if it was is jest)

Today we celebrate our love every waking moment. When I'm all dressed up, Al will say to me in the sexiest voice, "Let 'em have it, Ms. Jones."

"Baby, you are the Man," I answer.

"Thank you, baby," he says.

And I'll say, "Babe, did you make any money today?"

And he'll say, "Yeah, I think I might have made a little bit of money."

And I say, "Did you go buy your wife something? Because your wife likes pretty things."

And he'll say, "I know my wife likes pretty things. Didn't I give you that big old diamond ring?"

And I'll say, "Ooh, that was last year."

I've had the displeasure of meeting Ms. Jones once in Manhattan. Perhaps it was my fault for smiling and saying hello -- she was extremely rude and complete dissed me. So, to me, she'll always be ugly on the inside, it makes no difference to me how she looks on the outside.

In the first picture it looks like her head glued onto some other person's body..... :earseek:

I agree. She looks that way with all her skinny photos. The head just isn't proportionate. I liked her face better as a heavy person.

What's up with her eyelids/eye lashes in the last photo? It looks like her eyelids are HUGE!!! Maybe its bad lighting or camera angle.

For many years Star Jones would insist that she was perfectly happy and healthy in her large state. I wonder what changed her mind.

Oh and with Al - the rumor is that he's actually gay and is using Star as a cover.

I don't get why the blue shirt makes her look too thin? I think she looks shapely in it, not skinny.

Is it me or does anyone think that it is really slimy to not admit exactly how she lost the weight? I think it is a cop out for her to use the excuse that she does not want to promote one particular form of weight loss. Honestly, if she had surgery or pills, etc. it would be interesting to hear about it. I think she flatters herself that she thinks people would copy her without regard to their own health concerns. I too remember when she proclaimed how she was fat and happy.

On the other hand, I am happy that she has found better health. I just think she is a bit pompous and self involved. And the poster who had a negative encounter with her is not the only one. My friend said she was rude to her too.

It's not specifically the blue shirt, it's the picture. I used "the blue shirt" so people would know which picture I was talking about.

She looks like a bobblehead.
