How Specific Can Your Room Requests Be?

In July 2006 DH and I spent a week at POR. We paid for a King Bed and had requested a water view (from the advise of a friendly CM who help make my reservations. Got the King bed and the water view, no problems.

We are going back this December and this time we ar staying at POP. When I made my reservations, I requested a King Bed. About a week later I thought about the fact that they have handicapped accessible rooms, and I called back to see if there was a way to request NOT to have one. The CM helping me that time insisted that all KING rooms had a walk in shower regardless, so I just thanked her and hung up.

I would really like to have a room with a bathtub, and I've learned on here that there are indeed King rooms at Pop with a bathtub. Can I call and request that my reservation say "Please Note: King bed with bathtub requested" (that is what it currently says, minus the bathtub) or are they limited to pre-listed items, like certain buildings, views, etc.?

I don't think it hurts to ask.If the Cm doesn't understand ask them about a king room that is not handicap accessible.:)

I think you're fine. You can ask for too many things. For example, on our first trip I asked for all kinds of stuff based on recommendations I got here. However, what we didnt realize was that some requests cancelled out others and we ended up needing to be moved. Ask for what you really need and hope for the other stuff.

Any other thoughts? I might just call to see if they can add that, and if not, we'll take what we get. I don't want to be too specific, which is why I am not requesting specific buildings, floors, etc., but I would really like that bathtub! I forgot to mention that we are both diabetic and have requested a fridge for medical reasons which is why I was afraid they might automatically assign us to a handicap room.

I agree with Stacy. Prioritize which request are most important and try for #1. If all the rooms with bathtubs and fridges are handicap and you say you don't want a handicap room they may not know where to put you. Too many request are almost as bad a specific request.
