I'm thinking about a quick trip for FD, but not decided yet.

So, how soon can I expect FD at the value resorts to sell out?

Will POP sell out first?

Thanks for your insight!:goodvibes

Usually pop then movies then music then sports. People cancel and change though so even if pop sells out and you have to book an AS keep checking back

It will be sold out in May.
Pop will be sold out in the next week or two.
If your flexible with dates you can still find stuff a few weeks from now.

Pop sells out very very fast. The rest of the values go quickly too. Even though there are cancellations, in the past Disney doesn't necessarily put the cancellations back into the pool of available free dining rooms. So getting one still is tricky. My advice if you are undecided book it ASAP and place the deposit, and cancel if you change your mind.

Last year I checked right up to the last day to book and there were rooms available. I don't suggest waiting that long. If you can spare the $200 make the reservation and just be sure to cancel before the rest of the payment is due. As long as you cancel 46 days before your trip all your money will be refunded.

Last year we went with another family who didn't even try to get a room at the POP until the end of May. She had no problem getting our exact dates (9 days).

Depend on the dates you want to book. Last year, I booked three rooms at POP for my sisters with my Disney Visa. My cousin who wanted to join us did not get a room on the first day of public offering. She did not call first thing in the morning or check back all the time. But I did check for her from time to time. We booked the last week of August.

I just wanted to say have a great time, have fun and enjoy in your upcoming trip. Looking forward in hearing more from you after you came back.

Have a nice and safe trip coming. :)

I don't think the values will sell out that fast. There doesn't seem like a lot of posts about people booking FD. Back in 2007 the boards were packed with people posting about up coming FD trips. So far this year things seem pretty quiet. Any thoughts?

And even back in 2007, we booked FD on the last day and got the last week available and it ended up having 2 days during the Food and Wine Fest. Just the luck of the draw. Last year when the FD came out with Disney Visa I called for Music in the am and was told it wasn't available, I called later to book POP, which strangely was and tried again for Music and guess what we did get Music. I guess they put out rooms at different times. The reason why we wanted Music is that we were already staying 2 days prior there and it was before the FD offer.

I totally agree. I'm very surprised with how little has been mentioned on here compared to other years. In years past, the boards were abuzz about free dining for a month before it was even offered. This year, the buzz only started about 2 days before. I guess a lot of people used the 4/3 offer instead this year.

Well I will be keeping my fingers crossed as I am trying to talk my dh into changing from July 4/3 to Aug Free Dining....$1365. savings..he is scared of the Aug Weather...Hurricanes and Rain.

I agree part of the lack of posts clammering for FD has to do with all the other offers available also. Many were selecting the FD solely due to the FD offer. Now with other offers they can go when another time frame suits them better.

WOW!!! that makes me feel much better. I have been kinda freeking out about our upcomming FD trip in Sept. I was worried it would be VERY pack due to the FD prmo. This is our first trip durning FD. Hope it's FUN, :cool1:

We are in the same boat. We were planning on going in Jan, so we booked fo rDecember with the plans to change dated to Jan when they came out this summer. I changed today to September. I hope its a good plan.
