How soon did you know?

You people are making me so excited. My DW and I aren't trying for kids for a while. Next December to be exact, when we go on the DCL. But you can't tell that we're not already pregnant. The two of us are just so ready and excited! I told her for my birthday next year all I want is for her to pitch her birth control pills. (My b-day is in April, so that should be PLENTY of time!) And we're not going to start trying until Dec. so I thought about trying those ovulating things to try and plan when our best chances are, etc. My question is, I know this is CRAZY, but if the cruise leaves on Saturday, do you think there's ANY chance we could know by say the following weekend? We're also spending a couple days on property AFTER the cruise and she really wants to buy some baby stuff from downtown disney. And which test do you recommend to take to find out the soonest?

Congratulations!! You are so excited already, wait til you find out she is pregnant!!
As far as the cruise, the only way to know a week later would be if it actually happened before the cruise. But buy the baby stuff anyways! Boy and girl, just to be safe (or to plan for #2....)

I know!!! If we're this excited NOW, 14 months from the cruise...... imagine how bad we'll be once we find out!! But knowing my DW she will go ahead and buy, BUY, BUY!!!! Oh boy! But, I guess since we leave on Dec. 8th and get back on the 15th, and then spend 16th & 17th on property, it will give us a GREAT souvenir/Christmas present/anniversary present! Do you think that she will let me use that for each occasion? Anyway......THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With both I suspected the minute I was late, or the minute I realized I was late!
Seriously, I've always been like clockwork so with DD#1, I kinda said hmm... waited a week a bought the preg. test.
With DD#2, I was driving to church one Sunday and passed a billboard advertising a sandwich at Sheetz. The picture of food made me gag and then I realized that I was over two weeks late and I'd had a low-grade nausea the past two weeks. I knew what it was so I waited another week to confirm with the preg. test!

With my first I realized I was pregnant when I was about 2 days late. I had gone to a bachelorette party the night before and I could hardly drink...I sipped soda most of the night (thank goodness).

This time around (I am 10 weeks today) I was again at a bar and could hardly finish my delicious bloody mary...so I switched to soda. But it didn't dawn on me that I was pregnant. I was at this bar with 2 other pregnant friends...and it just never crossed my mind. (I was maybe a day late).

We had been "sort of" trying for 9 months and I wasn't really expecting it to happen. The next day I fell asleep in the middle of the afternoon and I had a strange dream about going to Walgreens to buy bread and a pregnancy test. This is strange on multiple levels as I don't buy bread at Walgreens nor shop there except for prescription medicine. Anyway, when I wake up there is my husband eating a big ol' sandwich for lunch...the first thing out of his mouth was that he used the last of the bread to make his sandwich. Without saying anything about the dream, I got up and went to Walgreens, bought some bread and a test.

The thing is I should have known. I had this strange feeling before our vacation that it would happen at Disney. Well, I am pretty sure it wasn't technically AT Disney, but a day or two after we returned home.

My friend's story is even better...the night she conceived her second child she had a dream in which her deceased uncle (who had been a priest during his life on earth) told her that she was pregnant. Her due date ended up being that uncle's birthday! She actually had the baby 2 days after his birthday.

Now no one can convince me that we aren't connected to the afterlife and that loved ones can't send messages to us from beyond!!!

Okay I think my mind may be playing tricks on me! My upstairs really feels sore! I took two more test this morning and they were both - I really turn into a crazy person when I am trying!

RBennett, I'm booked on the same cruise!!!! Good luck! Funny story, my BIL and his wife went on DCL with another couple. A few months later when talking on the phonethey found out that they both were pregnant due a day or two apart. They both got pregnant on the cruise!

I think there's a lot to be said about dreams! If you're dreaming about it, it could be!

Funny story - We knew both times about 1 month before. I was at a birthday party and one of the other attendees is a psychic. She came up to me and said, "are you trying to have a baby, because I see it happening for you in May." Freaky! We hadn't told anyone we had been trying, so it's not like she could have heard it through the grapevine. I was so excited to take the test that month, because the last few had been negative, and getting pregnant then would put my due date in May. Took the test...negative. I was devastated. Several days later, I still hadn't gotten my period, so I took another test and it was positive! Due on May 13th!

A couple years later, I bumped into that woman at a store. She asked me if I had any other kids. When I said no, she glanced at my stomach, raised an eyebrow, and said "okay" (in a way that said "I know something you don't know!). DH and I weren't trying then, so I kind of dismissed it. Well, a couple weeks later, I found out I was pregnant!

The day before our first OB visit with the 2nd pregnancy, I had a dream that I was feeding the baby, then looked around and saw another baby - 3 kids? whoa where did that one come from?!? I told my dh about it, and he looked at me in stunned silence, then told me he just had a dream we had twins. Well, guess what we found out when we went to the dr...yup, twins!

Where can I meet this woman? I think I need her help!!!!

How soon did you know you were pregnant? My first I just took test after test since I was trying. # 2 I had a dream I was pregnant and found out really early. Now I am trying again and I swear that I am starting to feel like I am. Am I crazy or has anyone else known right away?

With my first, I was 6 weeks pregnant before I knew. We were going to start trying soon, but hadn't yet. Opps. I thought I was sick; I didn't skip my first either.

With my second, I knew within 48 hours of conception. It drove me nuts! It was just too exact to be anything but morning sickness & I couldn't get a stupid positive pregnancy test to save my life even 5 weeks later. Finally, my oldest's pedi checked me out after I got sick in his office & told me to go get a blood test. I was right, pregnant.

With my third I was about 2 weeks along when I suspected. Waited another 2-3 weeks to take the test. Positive the 1st time.
