We have a split ressie at OKW and then BWV. I was only able to get 2 nights at BWV. I would like to check out of OKW early in the AM and going over to BWV and spend the day there, how soon can I check in?

I realize that we may not get a room until 4pm, but we are driving and will leave the luggage in the van. Just wondering if there are restrictions for using the pool before our room is available.

Any suggestions on how to make the transition easier with 3 small kids? :confused3

You can check in first thing in the morning. (room probaly wont be ready)

One of you could drive over and check in while the rest of the family is getting ready in the morning at OKW. You dont have to check out of OKW before you check into BWV.

Once you are checked in, I believe you can use any of the facilities of the resort.

Enjoy your trip

I've moved from OKW to SSR twice and checked in at SSR both times at 7 AM AND got into the room. I know I was lucky.

You will be able to check in first thing in the morning. We have done this before when moving between resorts in order to use the pool facilities or to drop off bags with bell services before going to a park. :cool1: I would definetly go over early and enjoy a coffee and pastry from the Boardwalk Bakery.

I've checked in several times between 5:30 & 6 AM, the limitation seems to be the change over of the computer system from one day to the next which happens between about 4 & 5:30 AM most days. The room may or may not be ready but it can be even that early. If it is, they will let you get into the room, if not, you can get your keys for charging, go to the parks, use the pool and other facilities.

Same-we have checked into BCV at 6AM before.

Does that mean that you have been assigned a specific room at that point? So in case someone checks out late of that particular room you have to wait even longer???? I haven't done room request yet, and have received a room both times before noon, but I would like to for next visit. Any hints on whay I can do to help(yes I know requests are not guaranteed) have a request fulfilled?

I have found the fewer requests I have the more likely I am to get into the room before 4. This coming trip when I want to get into the room early if possible I made three requests and then had second thoughts. They were upper floor, near a pool and away from HH at OKW. The irony is that the only reservation they had when I made it was near HH. Now I wish I had just said upper floor and near a pool. Even that can backfire - one trip I had near a pool as my only request and got it with a building near the Turtle Pond pool - the problem was there was no water in as they were refurbishing it while we were there.

I am starting to weigh, possibly getting into room at time of check in vs. possibly getting a room I wanted.

Conumdrum.

Both, we have gotten a room on a couple of occasions, not on a couple more. In addition, two of them were where we had to check in again but wanted to stay in the same room and we were successful both times.

If a room is ready, they will assign it to you and you can actually start using it.

If there are no rooms ready, they will still give you a key, but it's code will not yet fit any room. It is NOT preassiged to a specific room. So relax, you don't have to wait for any specific guest to check out of 'your' room.

They don't actually assign the room until it has been vacated and cleaned, and then they will give that room the code that's on your card so the door will open.

At check-in they'll give you a 'business' card with a phone number. You can simply call later in the day and they will then tell you the room number that was assigned. You don't need to go back to the front desk.

Remember that door key lock codes are changed remotely. Otherwise the previous guest could still use their 'key' to open the door. Basically they just pre-assign a code to your key card, then later assign the same code to the villa you will be using.
