How Should We Spell DD's Name?

My middle name is Alison, but I prefer the spelling with 2 l's so I voted for Allison.

My name is Alison. I would never change the spelling but Allison is the most popular spelling. If someone spells my name wrong they will put Allison. At disney everything say Allison. I can find things with Alison elsewhere. If you are concidering calling her Ally decide which way you want that spelt also. For example if you go with the spelling Allison her nickname will be Alli.

I get Ali and Al for nicknames.

I voted for Allison. I used to work with a girl who's mother spelled hers Alycne - very confusing and often misspelled or mispronounced.

It always amuses me when a parent is so obsessed with a child's name being different, that they have to spell it phonically, or some other method, where it is so difficult to read, you can't. I can just see some of these kids going through school and having to hear the teachers stumble over their names every year.....

I like Allison. Alycne is just trying too hard....
