This will be our first Disneyland resort stay(we go to WDW twice a year but are trying something different this Oct. ) and I was just wondering what is the best way to book our room. We can't take advantage of the Expedia deal because we only can stay 3 nights. So, I want to just book 3 nights at the Paradise Pier(standard view) I got a quote from Dreams Unlimited but it was for $249 night. I thought Paradise Pier was only $165 night? Is this right? I think the Disneyland website quoted me for $165 night. Should I just book thru the Disneyland website? How do the deposit requirements differ than just calling. Do I have to pay for the total when I book? I plan on buying our park tickets separately. Any advice would be great!!!

Thanks,
Kim

Are you sure you can't squeeze in one more night to take advantage of the stay 4 get one free? Even if you come in late at night, you will be all settled in and ready to take on the parks in the morning=(reg rate $165 or 201.25(tax and resort fee) VS.4th night free rate of $132, no view 163.30/night/4nights).

If not, then book directly with the hotel. The rate is the same as the "regular" expedia rate and you don't have to pay any money up front. Expedia usually makes you pay the whole thing and then if you cancel or change, they charge a $25 fee. If you are AAA or an AP, you can usually get a 10% off discount but by booking directly with the hotel and keeping your eye on the boards, if they release AP rates for the time you are going, you can call and have them adjust the rate. I would recommend the view room though, it is pretty spectacular for $40 dollars more per night, we think it is so worth it.

If you are getting tickets too, there are better ways to go with package deals esp with AAA you get "enhanced fastpass" staying at one of the resort hotels allowing you to collect all the fastpasses you want without time restrictions-really nice when it is crowded! Good luck and have a great time!

The answer can be different at any given time. You just have to check the rates with various places and see who has the best rate. The standard rack rate for the value season at PP is $165 a night. But that doesn't mean you will easily find that rate available. There may only be a few rooms in the hotel at that rate.

Because you are planning on staying on site you might want to check AAA. If you book thru them you'll get enhanced fast pass as part of your package. Another thing to keep in mind- if you book thru expedia, or a simular site, you'll have to pay the "resort fee" directly to the hotel. It will had about $15 per night on to the total. Typically their reservations are non refundable. If you book thru AAA or Disney travel you'll have some time to cancel if you need to. Typically Disney travel needs a $200 deposit for booking, and the total paid at least30 days before your trip.

hlbtimes2. lol, posting at the same time but we both drool over that enhanced fastpass through AAA, don't we!? Oh how I wish we could have that again!

I agree with a PP, at the point you get the 4th night free after paying for 3, you would have to stay. I priced it out for October for 4 nights and it came to $123 or so a night after getting the 4th night free. Such a great deal if you can use it!
