We are taking our second trip to WDW in October. DD3, DS8 and DD13. Last year we did not make it to MGM. I have ADR for the Fantasmic Dinner at H&V. Will this show be too much for DD3?
My kiddos are now 12 and 14...but I would have taken them both at 3. It truly depends on your own kids sensitivity to those kinds of things. The show takes place very far away from your face....and even on the water screens it isn't that "in your face".
We took DD last summer when she was 2. The noise bothered her a little but nothing too much. I agree that it just depends on your child. If there was anything on any ride that bothered DD2 at all, she just put her head on my shoulder. She isn't a screamer or doesn't get overly worked up. I didn't find it overly scary for her. You are in a big open area and as previous post mentioned it is not in your face. Unless your child tends to scare very easily, I wouldn't have a problem going.
We went last year with my 3 year old DD and her little girl friend who was also 3. My DD loved the show and wanted to know if we could go back the next night. Her little friend hated the show and was terrified by it. My DD is pretty fearless the only thing that scared during our trip was walking down in to the Pirates ride, she made us turn around and walk back out.
I personally found fantasmic as dull and too long. The only cool part was watching the audience. To me, it was like watching a video on water. Hubby however really liked it and is forcing me to suffer thru it again this trip.
I liked Wishes at MK the best. that truly took coordination with the music and fireworks.
Epcot again was decent, but too long. They could cut out half the ball stuff and still do well
In answer to your question your kid should be ok, she can hide her head if a part is too much
A lot of the show is movies on a screen of water, including classic scenes of disney villians. Made out to be part of Mickey's nightmare. There is a final battle were Mickey takes on a giant snake, or dragon, and this is live action involving fire and expolsions. As others have said, you sit away from all this, (you can feel the heat). It's not my favorite show (IROE is), but it's worth watching.
