Can anyone tell me how rough Indiana Jones is? Comparable to Dinosaur at WDW would you say it's less, about the same, or more? Thanks!

Indiana Jones is very jerky. But that's the intent. If you have back problems, it will be an uncomfortable ride. Otherwise, it is worth doing at least once!

I haven't ridden Dinosaur recently, but I'd say it is about the same.

Same. It is the same ride vehicle. But the story and experience is way better.

Truthfully, the first time I rode Indy in the 90's I did not "get it" and said to myself "get me out of here". The ride was so jerky and annoying. But I tried it again. After riding it a few times I started to like it. And if it were not for my beloved POTC, Indy would be my favorite ride at all of DLR. :)

It is a bit jerky but great fun. I always sit behind my daughters and lightly flick their necks when the blowgun darts start, for some reason it always freaks them out.

Thanks guys. I actually don't think Dinosaur is that bad. I don't know. Would you say the front of the vehicle is better, like on Dinosaur as well? Thanks.

You definitely feel more in the front and back than in the middle of the vehicle.

Well, two out of three Dobies are middle aged and LOVE this ride! We ride it back to back multiple times whenever we can. I found that if I raise my arms above my head, rather than holding on, it seems to be smoother. (Maybe because I just get more of an adrenaline rush.)

In contrast, I found Dinosaur to be almost unbearable.

Go figure.

This is my 19 y.o. daughters favorite ride. 16 times when we were there last. Would have been more if the ride had not been down the night prior to leaving. The kids watch the IJ movies on the drive down.

I noticed that too. I think it's more jerky when you hold on because you're body is more tense and resistant against the movements. When I started to enjoy the ride more I would let go and I found it easier to absorb the movements. If that makes any sense. I love, love, love Indy and I'm usually not a fan of 'jerky' rides.

I personally find the Matterhorn to be more jerky. Mulholland Madness almost put me in traction...that thing needs to be outlawed. Indy is far tamer by comparison.

If I tried that I would be decapitated!!!

DDs just meet the height restriction, but I'm not sure they can take it. Do you think an older 5 and older 6 year old could handle Indy?

HAHAHAHAH we do the exact same thing, also crawl you fingers up your neighbors arm when they go around the bend where the spiders are on the wall :scared1:

My dd (6) doesn't like Space Mtn and can barely stand BTMR due to the tickling feeling she gets in her stomach. However last summer she surprised us by declaring that Indy was her favorite ride. We were in shock!! Prepare them by watching a youtube of the ride. That helped I'm sure!

I'd probably wind up smacking them! lol

HAHAHAHA and it would be well deserved!! :lmao:

On a serious note, I did with my surgeon's approval(last summer), ride Indiana jones after fracturing my pelvis in 3 seperate pieces :scared1:. I was 6 week post surgery and have a total of 5 9 inch screws keeping me together:scared:. I was wheelchair bound and was not yet allowed to weight bare on that left leg.

Surgeon said that it was fine. The ride has good restraints and despite how "bumpy" the ride is(which is the fun part of the ride), it's still very smooth. If I got away with doing it without any problems at all, you'll do just fine :upsidedow

Makes perfect sense, and I agree.

If you tense up, you'll find it very jarring on your spine.

If you relax and take it as it comes, it's a very enjoyable ride. I have no problems with it since I learned to "go with the flow."

I took DD on it when she was 6 or 7 for the first time and she hated it. I know other kids love it, so it all depends on the kid. :goodvibes

Well, my DGD loves the movies and couldn't wait to be tall enough to ride and he was literally crying when he got off (he was 6) I hope he'll try again when we go back...
