How recently has the Contemporary been refurbished?

Does anyone know in what condition are the rooms at the Contemporary? Have any of the sections been recently refurbished? Are there any sections to stay away from? I read a review from someone who stayed there in 2001 who said that the North Garden wing was in bad shape. I have never been to the Contemporary, but we are considering our options for an upcoming trip. I know that it is one of the original hotels at WDW and was curious about the condition of the guest rooms.

The Contemp is being used by the Army while SOG is closed or at least was the last time I was there in January.

Only some of the rooms are being used for SOG relocation.

I also saw some reports on these boards about bad room conditions. I thought that particular poster was in one of the garden wings.

You might try doing a search on contemporary room condition and see what you come up with.

I would like to know this also. I saw a recent report about the concourse area being dirty and outdated and I'd like to know more.

it has been a while, but we stayed in the tower in June 2001 and our room was in good condition.

Sorry, I can't answer your question about the refurbishment. But I do know that SOG is relocated in the North Garden Wing only. That leaves the tower rooms and the South wing available for everyone else. The last time we stayed there, in July of last year, our tower room was very nice. The last time we stayed in the garden wing was June of 2001, so it would be too long ago to give you a good idea of what they are like now, but they were nice then. I have to say the hallways could have used some work!

Only SOG in North Wing ?

No offense to our military, God Bless you,
but I can only afford the Wings of CR and
requested the North Wing for end of May.

I really hope the CR does not place us
in the South Wing for our 18th wedding
anniversary.

Do you think the SOG and regular guests
can share the North Wing of CR ?
