How rare are Sept Use Years?

My ideal UY would be Oct but my 2nd choice would be Sept. After reading this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2627319&highlight=use+year I became concerned about considering Sept when shopping since I know for sure that if I were to add on later, I would definitely NOT want to mix UY's (I just know my personality).

But that thread was specifically about BCV which I know has fewer resale contracts to choose from anyway so I am wondering what conclusion to draw. Is the promblem specific to BCV (because of the limited number of contracts available) or or would all resorts have a more limited amount of points for Sept since that's a slow month for Disney? Or do we know if all points were evenly divided out amongst each UY?

I'm curious about this as well. We bought re-sale at BCV, with a Sept UY, was somewhat hard to find.

We have been looking to add on, at BCV or somewhere else, a smaller contract though, and Sept UY are few and far between.

Sept UYs do come up from time to time. September was our preferred UY for our BWV contracts. We typically travel to BWV for Food & Wine, Christmas and Flower & Garden. A Sept UY gave us the best banking flexibility in case of unexpected cancellations for all of these travel dates. We were able to find three 100-pt to 150-pt resale BWV contracts over the summer with Sept UYs for reasonable prices. We were also able to purchase a 50-pt August UY contract... but now it's the odd man out! These contracts do come up and the pricing was in line with offerings for other UYs.

I can only speak for the DVC resorts at WDW, but points are NOT evenly distributed among the eight UYs. September is the least common UY at BWV and OKW. At BLT and AKV, its the second least common UY, but about 13.3% of BLT and 33% of AKV still has to be declared, so those rankings may change once the resorts are fully declared for the membership. September is the third least common UY at VWL. I have only compiled data for about two-thirds of SSR, so its premature for me to guess the rankings of the UYs at that resort.

At BCV, I have compiled most, but not all, of the data about that resort. So far, it appears that the September UY is the least common UY at BCV, with February being the most common UY.

I now feel very grateful that we were able to get the BWV contracts with the UY we wanted. I guess we were just lucky that what we wanted was available right when we started looking!

We have March use years, which also seem to be harder to find. We tried to buy a Sept use year BWV contract last year, so they are around. When we are looking for March use year contracts, we have just let our reseller know. They seem to have access to other contracts which aren't on their site, but are for sale. All 4 of our contracts were found that way.

The real facts matter more than anecdotal experience, of course...but I was struck by WDRL's data analysis...I have a Feb UY (and six contracts--one master and 5 add-on's). I've been looking for BCV points, off and on, for more than two years now...and I've always wound up getting them through Disney because I've never seen a Feb UY contract smaller than multiple hundreds of points. Weird that the facts show that the Feb UY is most common! (Of course, my "looking" hasn't been all that intense--I tend to want "50 more points" and give myself a couple of weeks or so of checking the resale listings here on the Dis and then give up--not hardly scientific data! But I'm really surprised to read that the most common UY at BCV is Feb!)

Not that it matters. I suspect finding any "right contract" for any UY at any DVC resort requires patience, luck or both!

We own two DVC resorts and have Sept UY for both. We own at BCV and we bought in 2003 and SSR we bought in 2004. That was the only yr available when we purchased in 2003
