I am looking to book 5 nights in November. Last minute decision, I understand it is the 50th and heading into the holiday season. I have no expectation that I will get anything, but I can fantasize. :D:D I wait listed a studio at Copper Creek and Kidani savannah view. Part of my fantasy is that I will find one of them came thru by this afternoon. HA HA HA HA.

Got me thinking, how fast has a waitlist come thru for you?

The fastest was about a week. I end up getting my nights by stalking half of the time. And I never wait list more than 2 nights.

I have been waitlisted for a month to get one more night for the end of September .
Hasn't come through yet. Stalking the site often and just found the night I needed not
at the same resort took it and still hope my waitlist comes through.

My dream is bigger than yours. I have a waitlist for first week in Dec.

I do have a room at SSR but was hoping for at least a few days. at AKL.

I have had them come through within a week and then some 45 days before our stay. I think with everything going on in the world right now it might come through.

I have waitlisted before, but I still checked availability every morning to see if anything opened up. I found the available night I needed there before I was contacted by DVC. I added the night on the DVC site. You can book the extra night on the site, but you have to call DVC to get the reservations combined, otherwise the system doesn’t recognize it as one stay and theoretically, you could have to switch rooms between “stays”. They could probably work that out at check in, but I wouldn’t risk it since the rooms are assigned a few days out.

So, do you think I would have better luck waitlisting 1 night at a time? I have time, I believe.

You can only have two active waitlists at a time. So, I would just make one waitlist, unless you only need two days. A DVC cast member advised me to waitlist what I needed and call back every time I saw one of the days I needed pop up and add it to add it to my reservation.

Not necessarily, it's two waitlist per membership/use year. If you have more than 1 contract with different use years you can have more than two

Good point. I only have one contract, so wasn’t thinking about multiple contracts would come into play.

I have a ressie for 9 nights. All nights in a one bedroom PG view at BWVs with the exception of first night in a studio PG view. I pieced this ressie together over six seperate reservations and had MS merge into one, with the exception of November 11, which from the beginning seemed like a unicorn for any resort. I have a WL, do an automatic refresh and stalk a sickening amount and nothing but I am hoping there still may be a cancelation in the upcoming weeks or months.

If I were you, I would stalk and take what you can get and piece it together.

Good luck.

There are more owners in Boulder Ridge and it’s the same points…..you may have better luck there.

Just beat my own waitlist again.....

We were scheduled for a 6 / 6 split between BLT and BWV for Christmas. Yesterday 3 more days at BLT opened up so I grabbed them and waitlisted the last 3. This morning 2 more came open, so grabbed them, cancelled waitlist. Waitlisted the last night, but stalked the site, and it opened up so grabbed it.

Now for the dilemma.....12 nights at BLT or do we split.....

We've done the Boardwalk area twice for Christmas week (not DVC) but have never done MK area because we know the crowds are heavier at MK than at HS / EP.

If Waitlist is not going to work as intended I wish they would just do away with it. I have to spend way too much time stalking now.

What do you mean? Are they releasing rooms before waitlists get assigned?

From what it seems, the system sweeps for rooms to match waitlists at set intervals (maybe every hour, maybe more, may be less). So a room that gets released from a cancellation could be snatched up before the system matches it to a waitlist and pulls it from inventory.

Yup I've gotten exact waitlist matches by stalking before and seen several others report the same.
