How pre opening ADR's are allowed in park, name/scan?

I am trying to figure out how people with BOG reservation times prior to the MK opening time are allowed in the park and past the hub, is it done by checking names on a list or is there some magic band/ticket scan?

We had a last minute addition of 2 people to our party. As of now, we were able to get 1 of the 2 on a second BOG reservation 5 minutes behind our reservation. If we are not lucky enough to find a 2 person reservation, the person with the name on the MDE account for the reservation is the person who will NOT go in park early to eat (will stay at resort and come later). Long story short, I am just trying to determine if we can get the other person in by just by using the name on the reservation (we all have the same last name on the 2 reservations).

In the past we have experiences that you just give your name to check off the list, but I am not sure if that is still the case. Is anyone able to share how they were verified recently to get to BOG or CRT pre-MK opening? Much thanks!

Hmm, our last time (Oct) they scanned our MBs with the iPad before they let us go through the Mickey scanners to wait to go in. BUT am not sure what they are doing now with the earlier Main Street opening.

One person in your party has to check in outside the gates. The cast member there confirms the number in your party (but he or she does not physically count heads) and then gives you a slip of paper with a map on it showing you that folks with breakfast reservations at BOG should cut across the Liberty Square bridge and then behind the castle to access the restaurant. When you get to Liberty Square bridge, there are other cast members there. If you have the slip of paper, your party is waved through without scanning bands or counting heads.

Edited to add: we were there last week and this same procedure was used both mornings we had PPO reservations at BOG

Yup. Pretty basic stuff.
Likely zero issues with an additional guest or two in the restaurant party.

If anything, the CMs admitting guests wouldn't care a bit about extra guests in your party.
They'd let the restaurant greeter sort it out.
