How popular is Radiator Springs Raceway?

It's been a few years since we've been the DL and we're debating between FL or CA for our April visit. I like the idea of CA but don't like staying on property....however I'm concerned about the wait time for Radiator Springs as it's our kids favorite ride. Any ideas?

The normal wait time in the middle of the day on a weekday is about 90 minutes I think. Co-incidentally, that's what it is listed at right now. I've seen it longer on weekends, but t kind of self-regulates as people won't get in it if it's too much past that. We've never stood in stand-by so I don't know how accurate that time is. We always have Fast Passes or go single rider.

Radiator Springs remains one of the most popular attractions at DLR. As ImDMous said, wait times seem to be around 90 minutes (can be more or less). I think the lowest I've seen the posted stand-by wait time be was about 45 minutes. If you download the official Disneyland App, you can check the wait times.

We've easily ridden Radiator Springs Racers 3 (or more) times per day while staying offsite. Once at rope drop via the standby line - you get on within 5-10 minutes this way; then either getting right back in the standby line for maybe a 15-20 minute wait; then getting FPs for later in the morning; and another set of FPs for a nighttime ride.

It is the TSM of DCA lol. I was there one a less busy day and we thought the lines were super long. We did it once early as single rider, and then got a FP to go back later. Single rider about 15-30 minutes after the park opened was 20-30 minutes each time. I noticed later in they day when we used the FP that the single rider line was longer than we had anticipated, it seems like a lot of locals go there at night and just drink beer in the line and don't mind the wait.

If you're staying at one of the nearby hotels within walking distance, it won't have any affect on getting there early for a fastpass, or to get in line. Some of the hotels across the street from the entrance are actually closer than the Disneyland Hotel! :)

It's still very popular and the CM's tend to let the single rider and FP lines go before all others resulting in even a short line taking close to two hours to get through. They're holding up the lines a lot longer than they did in the beginning. So even when the line looks short, it takes 90+ minutes where the same position in the line a couple of years ago only took 45 minutes.

I remember waiting 40 minutes just to get a fast pass! Is that still the case?

If you stay offsite just choose your dca days based on when it's early entry to DL. Zig when the onsiters zag. Go there first off.

If the kids are 7+ and people are comfy with it, consider Single Rider. My family has never had a FP for it and has never been in the normal line. It's SR all the way for us.
