How "picked over" are FP+ by people with longer vacations?

All,

I'm 60 days out on Dec 1. We will be at DW for 7 days. I know that you can book 10 days of FP+ as soon as you get to 60 days before arrival, so there may be several people who are able to book FP+ a few days before I can.

How "picked over" will the hot FPs be for us? Anna and Elsa are crucial for my two daughters!

Any strategies?

Thanks!
Vanessa

I think you have a really good chance of getting A&E. You're going at a slow time. But if you can't get the FP's, go to the park at rope drop.
Disney grossly exaggerates their posted wait time in the mornings. For example, yesterday the posted wait was 1 hour and 20 minutes longer than the actual wait time.

7 day vacation should be enough to get A&E FP+, especially since the 1st week of February has low crowds. The best strategy is to start making FP+ on the last day of your vacation that is planned at MK. Then do any remaining days at MK working backwards, and then do the other parks. Do this right at midnight eastern time on Nov 30th, and you should be able to get A&E FP+.

My 60 day window opened last night and I was able to get A&E with no problem. Now I was on at midnight, as soon as the window opened. One thing that did help was to grab the first time that comes up, and then just modify the time after you finalize.

Same here and I had 5 people. The earlier times were gone on the first day or two, but I found earlier times later in the week. I still could have had late afternoon times the first day.

SHouldn't be a problem...I didn't go for A&E but was able to get 7DMT for our 2nd day (first park day) as well as later in our stay...AND we were going during FD so I think the crowds will be larger for me than you.

We got 7DMT twice when we were just there. Along with A&E. But towards the end of our stay, it was REALLY picked over. This was in end of September to early October

My trip is the week after thanksgiving. I was on at midnight right when the window opened and started with last MK day, followed by other MK days, then other parks. We have MK on days 4, 5, & 8 of our trip. I got A/E on days 5 & 8 and 7dmt on all 3 days. (I plan to drop the second A/E if we all meet them on day 5... 7dmt we will def ride days 4 & 5 as I want to see it both during day and night, but may switch out the last one based on what the kids want to do). It was very easy- you should have no issues. I had a more difficult time getting fp for first msep on day 5, but booked the second and kept going back and checking inbetween booking other days and the first parade opened up after about 10 minutes- lots of people on the system booking and changing so just keep trying :)
Also, this was my first experience booking fp+ :cool1:

I was able to get 7DMT and A&E on midnight 60 days before my trip in July. So, nothing is impossible I guess. Good luck!

Thanks! You all rock! I like the idea of booking backwards!

These forums are so helpful!

We have "only" a six night vacation coming up and we were able to secure A&E and 7DMT on the same day even during a busier time (Tuesday of Thanksgiving week). I hope you get the FP for your little girls.

I was worried about this, as our trip is only 4 days long, but when our booking window opened last night, I was able to get everything we wanted at almost the exact times we wanted. (we are not interested in A&E, but it looked like that was available too.)

I was really surprised we were able to get 7DMT for our first day, which touring plans says is a 9 crowd level at MK.

I'm hoping that means TP overestimated the crowds for that day!

  1. I'm going Christmas week and could have seen Anna and Elsa every day of our trip if I'd wanted.
  2. Don't forget the starting time is midnight Eastern time. If you aren't in Eastern time you can start earlier than that. Don't sit around waiting until midnight while everyone else is grabbing your fastpasses.

I'll be there that week as well. I didn't even do mine until mid-afternoon the following day and had no problems getting everything we wanted. Went back in about 3-4 days later and had no problem tweaking a few things either.

Seriously, you are all fantastic. This is our 3d trip, but first experience with FP+. I'm a little anxious, but sounds like it should be fine.

Because A&E was so important to us, I went to the last day of our vacation - Dec 5, and booked it. I really wanted the 2nd, so next I went to Dec 2nd and got A&E, 7DMT and FoF parade. Then I coordinated with another DISer and gave him the A&E for the 5th.

:)
