How old were you when you learned you truly were getting old?

I am in my 50's. Due to different issues and conditions, physically I am like 10-20 years older.
It is not easy.
(Anyone who would be critical of me 'slowing down' might get a huge, huge, earful.)

I don't really feel "old" (I'm 63) but I have recently felt mortal with the passing of people from my generation from natural causes as opposed to "sex, drugs and rock n roll". What can I say - I'm a child of the 60's!!!

When you meet some of the new employees and they are fresh out of college at 22 years old. You were in college when they were born.

I was 45. My 21 year old coworker was talking about how it was her mother’s birthday that day.

Her mother was 42. I was older than my coworkers mother.
