How old is too old?

I was considering doing the Disney college program when I was in college the first time about 10 year ago. One reason or another I never applied and I ended up dropping out of school. I am now a student again at the age of 30 and would LOVE to still do this. I don't see an age restriction, and wondered if I would be completely out of place?

Definitely go for it. I worked with a 34 year old CP and another woman who waited to do her CP til her kids had moved out of the house. They were part of the family just like anybody else.

One woman in my last program was in her 60's! She loved every minute of it and was one of the most outstanding cast members!!

Live whatever dream you have. She said her life long dream was to work at Disney and she had to do it. So she did!

I'm 26 and attending the last DCP presentation at school and was sure I would be the oldest person there checking it out... There were 3 reps from my school. One a little bit younger, and the other 2 women were somewhere between 40-65! I was thrilled, lol! They said they loved it and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Yeah definitely don't let age stop you. I mean most people will be in there early 20's but there is definitely some CPers who are older. I'm current 26 and in the DLR CP and have seen a few 25+ CPs so definitely don't let it stop you from applying.

You should definitely apply for the program!! One of my fellow CP's in Merch was in her 50's! She loved the program and also decided to extend her program. Her age was never a problem. Good luck!

All of us doing the CP have the Peter Pan Syndrome anyway! Age is just a number!

I did the CP the fall 2009, was at the Poly in Merchandise. I extended for the spring of 2010 and was moved to DHS, Maingate. I was 50. I loved every minute of it and met so many people. My roommate was actually older than me.

I think there's not age for education. Learning is a continuous process and one should keep on upgrading him/her-self to climb up the ladder of success.

I'm 23 turning 24 in April, so I personally don't think you would be too old! If it's something you want to do, GO FOR IT! I'm a 5 1/2 year senior and I feel old, but I'm still trying!

Don't give it another thought! I did the Spring 2011 program and I just turned 43 a few days ago. My roommate was 50. I had the time of my life, and I am glad I went. My husband and 4 children fully supported me because they know how dear Disney is to me. And at 30, you will blend in anyway! Go for it. P.S...I also went seasonal because I sooo wanted to be part of the Company forever.

Yeah I was in Traditions with someone that was late 50's, early 60's. So trust me, 30 is PERFECTLY fine! A 40-something year old father from my Public Speaking class went down also. Also, they try to pair you with a similar age (unless your request an "under 21" room which is possible even if you're over 21). My 40-year old friend didn't have a roommate until halfway through the program! The older you are, the better apparently! Although I guess some people like roommates

What a great thread to read! I'm 29, turning 30 (yikes!) in March. I've applied for Spring 2012, and my phone interview is Tuesday night!! I have my concerns about being "older" than everyone else like the rest of you do. I went to college 10 years ago, and have since decided to change careers (I know I'm not alone there, either!). I see this as such a huge opportunity, a way to pursue a dream that may not come true otherwise.

For what it's worth, two of my three roommates were 27 and 26. I knew personally of at least two CPs, in their mid 30s, who were roommates. Though it often seems like roommates are drawn out of a hat, roommates of similar age are usually put together. They've found it makes things easier for everyone.

I'm 55 and so excited to be accepted for Spring 2012!! WDW has always been a big part of our lives (me, hubby & two sons with college degrees).

** I never ever imagined I would be a college student at this stage in my life. Like many people... times are tough. So here I am, trying to reinvent myself.

My oldest son was in the 2010 Spring Program (with my encouragement). Said he'd go back in a heartbeat.

I am so proud of him... He is who urged me to apply! All his idea. How cool is that?

He helped me realize I'm so lucky to be in this position (smart kid). When will this ever happen again? So here I am packin' to go to WDW in January! Who knew?
