How old is to old??

Nope, sorry. :rotfl:

There is no law protecting a Mommy that wants to take her adolescent in the women's bathroom.

I am speaking of children that are not handicapped in any way, BTW.

There's no law stating that a woman can't bring her 9 year old son into the women's room either, sorry.

For a 7 year old, maybe. For a disabled 14 year old?

Nobody is questioning bringing a disabled boy in. Either you haven't read the whole thread or you are picking and choosing what you want to read.

Actually, under the ADA, it might.

Would the ADA seriously say that a boy has to be allowed in the women's restroom when there is a companion restroom available (as there always is at Disney)? I do not see why, given that a reasonable accommodation has been made by providing a companion room.

Companion restrooms aren't always convenient in an emergency.

that's what stalls are for.

I'm talking about a child here. not a grown man or a teenager.

all these people who talk about the risk being so low. tell the parents of abducted and murdered children how low that risk is.

Everyone thinks its not going to happen to them. and I hope it never does. but it happens to someones child

The risk is low. There is no bogeyman waiting for your child just inside the door of the mens' room.

How many children have been abducted and murdered from a WDW bathroom?

How many children have been abducted and murdered from *any* bathroom?

If you are close to one, then fine. If you are nowhere near one, and your child has to go, then he has to go.

That is not an argument about safety then. It is only about convenience. Being convenient for you does not make it okay to be rude to others who are of the appropriate gender in the restroom.

Heres a couple for you.

And these are safety tips from the San Diego police dept.

At Disney? They are pretty readily available. If you are uber worried about your child;s safety--then it is on you to be a little prepared and make sure you go often enough that you do not have emergencies--or else at the very least take him in the stall with you.

I still say if he is old enough to ask the question of being too old, YOU should go in the Men's Room with HIM instead of taking him in the ladies room. Then you will be the one who is uncomfortable and stared at, not him.

The first one is a man in the girl's bathroom and the second was an attempted abduction.

How is the San Diego police dept relevant to this discussion? :confused3

Then I guess you never let your child out of your sight:confused3. There is risk with everything. Heck, I could slip and fall in my own bathroom and die from head trauma, that doesn't mean I go through life wearing an adult diaper.

There is a lot of weird sexism/gender stereotyping going on in this thread.

From reading this site for years, it's clear that a % of women (thankfully not all) view most man as evil distgusting people who live to hurt their children.

It's very sad...especially since likely these beliefs are being passed on to their kids as well.

Exactly what is stopping your six year old son from wandering around the bathroom and/or leaving the restroom while you are in the stall? What is stopping someone from taking your son while you are in the stall? Why is he any safer unattended in the bathroom or unattended outside the restroom?

As a daughter, wife and mother of a son, I resent the heck out of the idea that men's restrooms are molestation central. I assure you that if anyone tried to do something to a boy in the restroom, my dad, my husband or my son would be right there intervening.

Well as wife and mother of not one but 2 sons, I do not resent it in the least, don't know why in the world you would.

Now, boys have been molested in bathrooms for a very long time, it is often" no, but it can and does happen, in fact they have been murdered. Now not at WDW, that I know of. Also these boys were molested and murdered when the restroom was empty, again not at WDW.

Also mine would stand right outside my stall and not move, (good parenting) if you can't control your child, then maybe don't being him out at all. And if someone tried to take him, I would see it and trust me, they wouldn't get far, unlike being in a men's room with just a couple of other men.

I think the problem is, at WDW it is a much busier place and these types of things most likely don't occur. The only problem I have with sending in a younger child at WDW is that some of the bathrooms have multiple exits and can be confusing and a child can get lost.

I can tell you that there is no way I would ever send in a young child to a bathroom in certain areas and venues, to do so is nothing short of bad parenting, IMHO.

What is baffling to me is are these women married? Is that how they see their husband's? :confused3

You 2 are so off target it isn't even in the same galaxy. lol

I see my DH as someone who would kill a child molester, but he certainly isn't one. He would also be very upset with me if I let our son go into a bathroom in certain places alone, at a young age.

YOur comments are laughable though.

Believing every man in the world is out to get your child is laughable.
