How old are/were your kids when you bought into DVC? and question

OUr DD is 3. My DW and I made 2 trips prior to her being born and we have not thought much about what we will do in 20 years or so, probably still go since we both love being there!

So, I the "bad" wife, bought DVC all by myself (He's not on the deed, although he has since relented and pays half the dues).....

Kinda of joke in our family. I've offered to add him on, but he doesn't want "more paper work".

So I was 38, DH 42, and DD-3 when I bought.

But the real reason we bought was to take his and mine parents on trips!

But now we are so happy we have it for our family.

DD is addicted, and we know we're building many happy memories.

I wanted this to continue for her, so bought DD 100 pts at SS to give her later when she's gets married... Planning ahead!

Our kids were 9, 13, 16, 19, 26, and 28. They still live for the day we arrive at OKW.

Ours were all married and no longer living at home. We bought when we found out about DVC. Wish we had known sooner. So, most trips are just the two of us, but we also have trips when we take kids and grandkids. We love to share the magic!

Our daughters were 29 and 27 when we bought. Both with families of their own. We had heard about DVC when the concept originated but at that time it wasn't practical for us to buy---college tuitions and weddings were the priorities. We bought in fall, 2001 and it's one of the best purchases we have ever made. DH will be retiring soon and we have enough points to spend several weeks at WDW if we so desire----or at HH for that matter as we are in love with HH and own many of our points there.

We now have 5 grandchildren, the oldest will be 5 in June. None have been to WDW as yet but our entire family will be spending a week in June in a Grand Villa at HH. We will wait until the youngest two grandchildren get a little older before taking all to WDW.

We are looking forward to using DVC for ourselves primarily for many years to come and also having the opportunities to provide our kids and grandkids wonderful vacations.

By the way when we did buy, it was sight unseen and we hadn't been to WDW in over 12 years. No regrets at all.

Hi,

Our kids were 8yr and 10yr when we bought 6 years ago. We have had wonderful vacations to OKW, BWV, HH, VB and DCL! We choose HH as our home resort because it is were 'we' will want to vacation most once the kids are off on their own. Now granted, I'm sure they will be taking WWD vacations with us quite often even once they are on their own. We look forward to sharing disney with our grandkids and possibly even our great-grandkids! We'll be the 'favorite' grandparents  We bought into DVC site unseen and have never regretted it a single moment.

We bought BWV (site unseen) in '98 when our girls were 3,3, and 15mos. We bought an OKW resale in '02. We have been at least once a year every year since '98. Our girls still love to go now that they are 10, 10 and 7.

We've taken my parents and my BIL&SIL. This year, will be going over Thanksgiving and meeting up with my sister and her family who are staying at their Marriott VC. We're looking forward to taking trips with our niece or nephew to be born this October!

We talk about going other places on vacation, but always end up at WDW where there is something for everyone to do.

I did not buy in 1992 - I wanted to even signed the papers - but when I got home got talked out of it by friends and relatives.

Took my brother and his family to WDW in 1993 - boy for what I spend on that trip - it would have covered my downpayment and then some. I had to pay for everything for 4 adults (took mother too) and 2 children - very, very expensive - we were there for 5 or 6 days - when we were leaving - mother was upset - anyway when I say I would be glad to be back (I missed my cats that I didn't take) - my nephew say he didn't want to back - that is all it took - I called my guide within a month of begin back.

again the same friends and family try to talk me out of it - but hey it is MY money and it was a wise decision - all of our trips plus my brother, other relatives and friends that I have send to WDW - the is easy close to $100,000 - DVC purchase including addon and fees was (and is - I add the current fee each year) - $33,896.50. for me it is a good investment - but DVC says it is not an investment - it is pre-pay vacation accomodations - so don't use my standard.... besides I am very happy in a studio most DVC members want a 1-bedroom at least.....

We bought back in 99 when our dd was about to turn 3. Best investment ever. Now we also have a ds who just turned 3 and dd is 7.5. We go once a year and love every minute of it!

I bought in to BWV when I was 26. My wife and I were married a year later. and as far as kids I think she would tell you that I am the only child in our realtionship :Pinkbounc
