How often has the waitlist come through for you!!?

MS told me to call daily to see if any of the days I need are available. If they are, they can be added to the reservation instead of waiting for the whole kit and kaboodle to go through.

MS told me to waitlist for the whole thing....I wonder why..... we have sav. view studio june 25 to july 7 kindani. waitlisted 10 days ago for 1bdr BWV std. or 1bdr AKV kindani std. If the waitlist comes through can I call and ask if cash stay available for one of the weekends and do that to save points ?

We were waitlisted for a 2 BR for 1/11/09 to 1/16/09 and it never came through....both standard and preferred/BW View.

What happens if what you are waiting for is available when you check in? How do they handle points then? We are going in Feb. staying on some friends points.

Well, instead of taking the gamble of the 2 waitlists, I changed our ressie. We only have to waitlist for the last night, which shouldn't be a problem. We do have a studio at SSR booked as an alternative in case it doesn't come through.

I previously voted that my waitlists never come through and then today it came through. A 2BR at the BCV for Spring Break/Easter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I won the lottery!

How did you find out that your wait list came through? I'm wait listed for 2 days at 3 different resorts in March. Does it really help to call constantly to check on it?

I never called Member Services. I would just check the member website every so often to see if my points and reservation changed. Today they did! I honestly didn't think my waitlist would come through and I was okay with that. I had my 11 month reservation at BWV standard view. I called at 7 months to swich to BCV and was told that Easter Sunday was sold out and to call back the next day to reserve the rest of our stay (Mon - Thurs) and waitlist for Sunday night. I didn't want to risk not getting one night and I didn't want to move so I just waitlisted for the whole stay (Sunday - Thurs nights 4/12 - 4/17). I'm really happy it worked out and now I have a lot of faith in booking resorts other than my home resort.

They no longer allow you to waitlist day by day and you must waitlist the entire week...but you can call to see if any of the days w/in your waitlist have openings. I was told this was to "improve member satisfaction"--Kathy

I was able to book M-W with points at BCV in July for Sept. 2008, and waitlisted the rest of the week. A week into our cruise I got W and TH night, and paid cash with a bounceback offer from the year before for Sat-Sun. We had originally booked the week with the bounceback in Oct. of the year before, and decided to use our points in July. Since we were last minute planners, I was happy to at least get the 5 nights on points to save money for the trip.

i was put on waitlistfor BWV last week we are staying for 14 nights (at OKW at the moment) 3rd to 17th May so thats about 14 weeks what are the chances of the whole 14 nights coming through for standard view studio of 1 bed

This is my first time on the waitist (just over a week so far and no joy!!!) so can't comment on your waitlist chances. However, as a BWV owner I always book BWV at the 11 mnth mark and then change it to another resort at the 7 mnth stage so you may have a good chance!

I just went on another one today. I booked a studio at SSR for 5/2-5/7 & waitlisted for BCV, BWV, AKV, or VWL. VWL would be my last choice (as much as I love it there) since I just returned from there & have another trip planned there in Dec. Watch that will be the one that comes through! Here's hoping the 3rd time is the charm!

Our WL for one night at BCV did not come through in Nov. We were on the list for 5 months. For our June vacation, we were waitlisted for one night at Kidani and it already came through. We have been lucky in the past as well. One time it was for VWL in Dec!! Good luck to all those waiting.

We have waitlisted countless times and only two days didn't come through. We own at SSR and switch at 7 months to BWV for F&W for Jersey week. It has come through every single year since 2005. Only once did one of the nights not come through.

We have also waitlisted for spring vacations. We did try for AKV end of Jan last year but it didn't work. VWL came available and we had the best time!

I think of all the changes in the last number of years it is the tightening of waitlist rules that has made the most difference. The limit of two active will certainly make members be choosy as to what to waitlist for. I do think that it will cause some difficulties as presently you can waitlist a week but call in and pick up the odd single day to try to fill it in.

Waitlists do work!

I was on a waitlist for 3/16 (one night only) at OKW for a week. I just checked and it came through this evening! Now my ressie is complete!! I am 2 for 2!

You mean I can wait list on any/all DVC's? I am in need to three nights during March Break and nothing available so she asked me which resort I wanted to wait list on. I said my home resort, which is BCV and probably will not come thru ... if I could have added all of the others I would take the days in any of the DVC resorts no problem.

I am battin' 1000 with the waitlist. Tried 3x- success 3 times.

I am concerned about the new waitlist changes- but hopefully DVC knows what they are doing and it will still work well.
