I have a mini van rental for June-July that I used the travelocity code from this site to rent from Budget.

Just curious... how often do you guys check for better rates on car rentals? I would love to get an even cheaper rate if possible.

Does anyone have any new exciting codes. We will be traveling from Ohio.

I just happened to check on a rental car I had rented for June and found a lower rate so I rebooked. It doesn't happen often, but if you are persistent, sometimes it pays off.

We normally will book a car months in advance then check once every 2 weeks or so,also after a special has ended.I have found some great prices that only last a few days in the past

Tell you what, I am pretty intense when it comes to finding deals on travel. Once I have my dates finalized, I check almost daily for better rates. There will be times where rates stay the same for weeks and other times when super low rate may only be up for hours.... I always have my contract ID's and coupon codes with me so that I can check at different times per day. I learned this one the hard way when I found a great base rate for a trip but didn't have my stuff with me...... by the time I got home from work the rate had gone back up and didn't come down again.

Also, keep checking right up until the day you leave. I have re-booked my car the DAY I AM FLYING! You never know when they will lower you rate!

I book with the lowest rate I can find as soon as the flight is booked. Then I watch here for any new codes and check those. About a month before our trip I check just about everyday. More if someone has posted a new code. Sometimes my first reservation is the cheapest and I agree I've changed the reservation hours before we've left for a cheaper rate. It's like an obsession for me. I need to know I got the best possible price I could find.

I check daily until I'm happy with what I have... Then I check at LEAST once a week after that... it is my bedtime routine... I love to plan my trips. It is like the trip is a little longer that way.
