How often do they do AP renewal events?

My husband is going to be renewing his AP before it expires January 19th. We are just wondering what the likely hood of an AP only event invitation is. I got one before mine expired but it didn't work with our dates. We are trying to decide if we should go ahead and renew now or hold off another couple weeks.

You don't have to actually renew at the event to go to the event. 2014 was the first year that they had targeted renewal events, there is no way to know if they'll continue them in 2015 until Disney makes an announcement.

I think his pass would have lined up with the event in November. My pass expires at the end of January, and I was invited to that November event. Still haven't renewed; will do so next month. Hopefully they will continue the events into next year.
