How often do they change the sheets?

DH and I were re-making our bed tonight and talking about how nice it is to have a freshly-made-bed to sleep in. That made me wonder how often do the sheets get changed on a 7-day DCL cruise -- do they automatically change them every day, or do you request a change of bed-linens or do they do it on a certain day mid-week (unless you request ahead of time)? I know that I see in hotels all the time now that if you're staying more than one night, they don't automatically change the bed-linens.

You can request for your room steward to put fresh sheets on your bed daily if you wish. They do chagne out sheets and comforters between every cruise.

You're kidding, right?!? :scared1: They HAVE to change at least the sheets BETWEEN cruises! I know that they (like hotels) don't change the comforter between cruises (I wish they did!) but PLEASSSSEEEE tell me they at least change the sheets! It's enough to make one a little paranoid if you know what I mean and I'm not one to complain. Just my 2 cents worth. :rolleyes2

Sorry, it's late...just threw my daughter a surprise 18th party and I thought the post read that they were not changed between every cruise. Sorry guys.

So how do I make this request? I really want the sheets to be changed SOMETIME during our 7 night cruise!? Ya' know.....with sand, chlorine, and sea lice and all! :guilty:

Thanks, DIS NURSE from Oregon :flower:

I thought they changed our sheets everyday and we never asked them to. The only reason I could tell is the sheets felt different. One night they were kinda scratchy and the next they were soft. Every night I wondered if they would be soft or scratchy. I wanted them to keep them on for a while. It seems like such a pain for them to switch sheets everyday. I'm also one who always feels so guilty that they work so hard also.

Anyways, maybe they don't and it's all in my imagination ;)

On every cruise I've been on, DCL or not, they change the sheets EVERY DAY. Towels are all fresh too. The only thing not changed DURING the cruise is the bedspread or comforter, unless requested.

But they DO change the linens and towels daily, at least in my experience.

We have a silk sleepsack that we use, something about being more comfortable with knowing exactly when they were cleaned.

Its king size and something like a giant sleeping bag only made from silk.........

This thread is right up my alley, I am a bit of a germ freak... Lets get back to the blankets and comforter- Do they change these and how can we be sure that they are washed between cruises? Thanks- T

The sheets weren't changed daily on our last cruise. There was a tiny tear in the top sheet that was there for a couple of days, but no longer than that.

Our used towels were removed twice a day.

On our 9/1 cruise the sheets were NOT changed daily. To have it done all you have to do is ask your room steward he will be glad to accodmate you in any way possible.

They sure changed our comforter for us. We got in our room early and I saw him put a new one on and it was still warm. So I know it was fresh.

Ladyandthetramp...it is very easy to read a thread wrong I have done it before... :rotfl2:

Here's a way to get your sheets changed everyday - one of my nieces and nephews peed every night!

On the last night of the cruise the comforter was removed from the bed/cabin .. LOL
I jokingly said to the room steward that it was sent out to be cleaned between cruisers, and he jokingly replied no it's so passengers don't steal them...

LOL

Kinda funny I thought...

Both reasons are probably correct..

On our 14 night the sheets were changed 4 times only but you could request daily as stated previously.

UMMMM Thanks for that information, but I'd rather not think too much on what happens in the beds before I get there. For our benefit, I hope the mattress was changed :earseek:

do we really want to know how often things get changed??

anyway, where can I get this silk sleep sack and how much room does that take up?

We have the double deluxe, and when you put it in the little bag it comes with, its as small as a cotton king size pillowcase.............

would it fit two people or you have one each? call me a little confused here....
