How not to get sick

I do believe there is something to this because I recently saw a video from a school in Europe. The children go outside on recess with no clothes on! (gasp lol) well, other than their undies. They do this for like 3 minutes, and it's supposed to suppress the germs or something. They said it's really cut down on illness in the school!!!
I won't even ask how you happened upon this video. :cool1:

I spent my whole adult life convincing my depression-era mother that you could NOT catch a cold by (1) going without a hat (2) going out with wet hair or (3) not wearing a coat.

Plenty of vitamins and minerals work for illness, etc., and the FDA will always say it doesn't. Unless it's a pharma drug, the FDA says it doesn't work ;)

Glad this works for you, but the Food & Drug Administration found that this was not the case and the manufacturers had to pay a significant fine. https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/airborne-admits-false-advertising/

Yes, I am aware of the claims. We don't use it to ward off colds as much as for the herbs that are in it and they do help build up our systems a bit before travel (especially plane travel). Whatever the claims are, I have taken Airborne when I feel the first cold symptoms and it has prevented the cold from progressing. Anyway, it does work for us.

I feel the same way about Zicam rapid melts...they definitely take the cold away at it's onset. When I get a cold and take nothing..it turns into a huge ordeal, out for a week, blah blah.

Vitamin and supplement manufacturers are NOT allowed to make health claims, so if they do, that is why they get sued. It doesn't mean the product doesn't work though :)

I feel your pain after having to deal with my DFIL on this same topic

Just curious, but what does one do if they or a child get sick while on a cruise. Are there any particular activities that they can do so that they can still have fun but not get anyone else sick?

I use to use the Zicam allergy swabs and swore by them until it came out that they also were making people lose their sense of smell and actually had it happen to a co-worker. After that I stopped using them no matter how great they worked because the risk to value ratio went way down.

Rapid melts are something that goes in your mouth, not your nose :)

I know I was just saying the allergy ones that actually worked for me did indeed turn out to have some major side affects that they didn't have to disclose since they are a herbal remedy and not controlled by the FDA. The rapid melts never really worked for me but after that whole incident it did make me lose trust in Zicam as a company.
