How much??

funny part is, this nov we will have been engaged for 3 years lol. i dont even know where we would come up with this money to get married, hence us not getting married yet. i really want my wedding day to be magical, and disney seems like its the place. i am including invites, dresses, honeymoon and all that in my price too. like i said this will doubtfully happen, but i feel like i at least need to ask before i completely rule out my dream! thanks again everyone!:grouphug:

To own the rights to your photos when you use Disney photography, it is an extra $1000. With outside vendors that is included. I'm sticking to my guns here.

I have to agree with you. Outside vendors offer you much more and they are much cheaper!

Oh, don't give up your dream !!! Stick around here, ask questions. You can pull it off !!! The Escape is certainly the most affordable, and you can add elements if you want (for a price), but if you stick with the minimums, it can be done !!

:thumbsup2 We are hear to help... All Dream should come true!:lovestruc

I think you should look at info onhttp://www.mouseweddings.com/. I found the wishbook on disney's website to be pretty close to useless.

There is also information about other wedding options close to Disney. The Royal Plaza Hotel and the Swan and Dolphin Hotels all have MUCH cheaper wedding packages. (PS... we had our rehearsal breakfast at the Swan Hotel with Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale for so much less than Disney's prices)

There is also a bride on this board (I think DigitalLove) who had her ceremony (for a fraction of the cost) outside Disney property, and then had a dinner party/reception on Disney property.

So, you definitely have a number of options!!

Our wedding last Monday :cheer2: was for 38 people.

Disney's Portion before taxes and fees... $10,191
Disney's Portion after taxes and fees... $11,600
(There is a 20% service charge on food and beverages and then taxes are calculated after the service fees are added.)

It included...
- Ceremony
- Cocktail Hour
- Dinner Reception Location and tons of Food
- Delicious Wedding Cake
- Epcot Illuminations Dessert Party
- Disney's Florist
- Transportation (Motorcoach) from Dinner Reception to Epcot and back
- The services of wonderful wedding planners

Outside Disney Expenses were $5400 and included...
- Officiant for the ceremony and rehearsal (Rev. Knox) $350
- My Dress and alterations, Bra and huge Slip (both from EBay), 3 pairs of shoes with various sized heels, but ended up wearing flip flops for $12, Circlet (from Wales), necklace from Etsy.com. Under $1000
- Outside Photographer - Misty Miotto - Under $1500 for 6 hours (includes proof album, cd with pics, color, b&w, and artistic pics, online gallery for 30 days, etc.) It was MUCH MUCH more affordable than the Disney Photographers and we are getting a lot more!
- Patricia LeJeune - Airbrush Makeup and Hair for 6 people and trial for me - Under $800
- Character Welcome/Rehearsal Breakfast for 38 pp - Under $800
- Invitations/ Programs/ Favors etc. Under $600
- DH's Tux Rental Under $150
- Misc. Stuff - $200

The TOTAL was just under $17,000.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH and also, the wedding prices (both Escape and Wishes) include two ANNUAL PASSES and for wishes weddings if you meet your room night minimum you get a free night in the resort of your choice. We chose a Savanah view room in Animal Kingdom Lodge. I'm not sure if Escape weddings have that as well!!

this all so overwhelming!! there is so much more to planning a wedding than i ever imagined! I have to say that you all are probably some of the nicest people i've encountered on any message boards EVER!!!! I just finally finished reading Lurkyloos wedding stuff and i'm in tears.. it was just amazing!! i hate to want so much but not have the funds.. then i think crap, do i really want to spend this on a wedding when i dont even own a house lol it kinda sucks to want something so badly but know its almost impossible to get..grrrr

things i have learned(only from lurky so far)

-I dont in fact have to have bridesmaids!!
-Brunch is an awesome option and makes it so I dont HAVE to have that expensive open bar!!
-duh have an at home reception for guests who can't make it to fl!! maybe this would allow for an escape wedding now?
-being goofy in weddings pics is def the way i want to go
-don't do the limo (which i wasn't planning on, but now i'm really not)
-DEF do the desser thingy during fireworks!!
-Make some awesomely queer wedding attire to get free stuff lol
- lose 40 lbs before my wedding so i can gain them back during the whole wedding/honeymoon process
-try and figure out how to do a disneymoon with 2 kiddies :)

I'm sure i'll think of other things too.

and again, yall are so awesome, inspiring, loving, caring and helpful!! :grouphug:  :lovestruc

yes please do.. i'm hoping if we do a dftw that since my fam will already be down there, that they will offer to take the kids for a couple days so that dh and i can enjoy time to oursleves?? although i'm pretty sure i'll be walking around the parks alone and end up wanting my kiddies there lol

also, i didnt want to imply that lurky is the only one who had suggestions, i just meant, that is what i leared from her tr lol

So far, we got our wedding night covered:lovestruc My oldest is not happy about it though! We went alone for 2 days for our PS- a day at MK- and he must have called us 20 times! Hardly worth the guilt of not having him there!:rotfl:

This is a great thread! :goodvibes I am planning on April 2010 Wishes wedding, so we can save up some money. I too am a little overwehlmed by everything to do and i still have PLENTY of time.

Do you ladies find that the WishBook site prices are pretty accurate or when your go for you planning session can you get a more 'customized' yet more affordable package. Also, I've been noticing ALOT of brides go with Randy Chapman photography.... he's not a Disney photog right? is he more affordable than the Disney ones?

:flower3: Thanks again for all the advice! :flower3:

Glad my post is being helpful to someone other then myself!! I feel like i'm being crazy with all these questions lol

and I'm not really plannig on doing our wedding til 2011 lol!!!! Idk why I chose then, probably because dd will be 10yo and ds will be 5. oh and it will be 3 years after our last wdw trip. I like to go every 3 years.. well not like, but cant afford to go sooner lol. 2010 could possibly be an option.. possibly... My new love lurky, is giving more and more hope!!

Disney definitely makes it easy for you and stress free....I would call and speak to Heidi she can really give you ALOT of information

Some of the Wishbook prices are accurate and some are out of date. The real problem it doesn't list HALF of what's available. Everything is customizable. If you tell them you can't afford a $200 centerpeice, they work with you to create one you can afford.

So don't worry if your wish list on the wishbook is like 50 grand - it's really not a very realistic picture... :thumbsup2

i'd say after everything i've read, the prices are far from accurate. and really they should show ALLLLL options in this interwebz!!!

keep the hope coming man!
