How Much Walk Time

Hi There, I was just curious about something, I have a PS for Lilo and Stitch at 7:30, that is at the PP, I will be staying at The Carousel, about how long will it take me to walk there and how to I go about getting there?? Once I am on Disney property, is everything walkable, as in the hotels, parks, etc. Thank You.

You'll have to go south on Harbor to the crosswalk, and then go through Downtown Disney. From there.....I have no clue, as I have never been past ESPN. But it looks like you'll head south at the end of DTD. I don't know if there is a way to cut through the Grand or something. We stayed right at the crosswalk on Harbor, and ate breakfast at the Rainforest Cafe, which is at the end of DTD, and it took us awhile.....maybe 20 minutes. I say give yourself 30 minutes. We have kids, so we walk slow. But its fun to stroll through and not race. Hopefully someone else will have a better time estimation.

You can cut through the GCH, and that would be your best route. Walk from your hotel to DTD, and right before Club Libby Lou is a path to enter the GCH. Cut through their lobby, out their front entry and you'll be right across the street (almost, kinda kitty corner) from the PPH. If you have any questions, just ask any CM at the Grand, and they'll point you the way.

My brain has gone on the fritz. For this walk you do have to go through security once, yes? Then out through the other side of security to get to DTD, right?

You'd think I hadn't JUST been to the Carousel in late Jan...

I'd say 20 minutes is a good estimate. I'm not sure if the short cut through the GCH is open that early in the morning, so you would have to go all the way through DTD and then head south like the other poster said.

Good point. Luckily you don't have to go out of your way to see if the way is open (I assume those gates are closed when it's closed?), b/c you can just see if you can get through. The entrance would be between Sephora and Libby Lu (across from Haggen Dasz in case you're looking to your right instead of your left, LOL) if it's open, so if it is, turn in, and if it's not just continue through DTD, take a left past the theaters/at DLH, and you'll see it.

It all sounds so complicated. Where'd that map that mrs bee posted go? That was a good map!

Yea, if the gates are closed, just keep on walkin' It really is a nice shortcut, though if you can use it. You would just walk on through and go out the front entrance of GCH and then follow the sidewalk down across one intersection and there you are.

Thank you for all the great answers. I am a little confused but I am sure once I get there, it will make more sense. I have some direction from being there very briefly last year but not real good. I guess I am really confused on if I walk across the street and up towards DL, can I get to DTD that way or is that just the gates to DL and CA, I can't remember. Oh well, hopefully it will be alright once I get there.

I agree, I have had 7:30 am PS for Storytellers and walked from the HoJo. We were let through security at 7:15 walked across the esplanade, into DTD and into the GCH, no problem.

It might be easier to go ahead and walk through DTD and take a left the 1st left after the theater (compess books is the store at the corner) or even go all the way to the DLH and take a left... they have signs where to turn.

It's about 15 minutes from the front DL enterance.

You really don't know where White Water Snacks is?? I thought it was you I was following directions from when I was there . I guess it was somebody else. It's really easy.

You know where the private DCA entrance up at GRR? Go through the Private entrance into the GCH turn left and it's on your left just past the restrooms. If you are coming from inside the hotel or from the DTD entrance, go past Storytellers, down to your left past the Spa towards the Private entrance.

Hard to believe. I consider it one of the best resturants to eat at now... we'll catch lunch or dinner almost every day there we are at DCA.

Grab a hamburger or french dip (their cold sandwiches look good also), a beer and a hotdog for the kid (all he seems to eat at DL) and sit outside and feed the Disney cats.

Fairly reasonably priced also.
