I just finished reading a book written by a former Disney VIP tour guide. They only get paid the low Disney wages, like $10 or so an hour. Tips are very much appreciated, although technically they are supposed to donate them to charity, at least that was true when the book was written. They do get free meals at the parks, though. According to the author, they were the only cast members to get free meals, drinks, snacks, etc. They had a special card that would pay for these. It was because they never were given "official" breaks, they usually had to grab quick bites while the VIP tour guests were actually on the rides.
