HOw much to pay for guinea pig sitting?

We are going to have a neighbor boy (10) watch our guinea pigs for 6 days while we are gone to disney. How much should we pay him? I was thinking $20-25? He just has to come once a day and give them food, hay, some vegetables which I will have in baggies in the frig and check on the water. What do you think? Thanks

That sounds reasonable, maybe talk to the parents of the boy and see what they're comfortable with.

I think that sounds very generous! (not in a negative way). My son (same age) would be thrilled to be paid that amount. I like the idea of asking the parents what they think - I'm sure they wouldn't expect more than that. If you were my neighbor and asked me about my son, I would say $10 would be sufficient, but if you wanted to pay him $20, I wouldn't object.

I think that amount sounds fine. We just came back from a long weekend of camping and had the neighbor boys (2 of them) feed and water our guinea pigs. I gave them each $5 a day (more than what their mom said would suffice). At that time we had 10 guinea pigs.

I think that sounds ideal. You could also do a little less if you throw in a gift from Disney. Just balance it out so he gets around $20 and I think he'll be perfectly happy. I know my son would be thrilled with $20 (he's a little younger, but still would be very pleased).
