How much time for World Showcase?

For our family, World Showcase isn't a "destination" with "stuff to do", but rather an area to hang out in and hide and just kind of chill out. I mean, there are the rides in Norway and Mexico, but besides that it's mostly a place to goof off and maybe catch a show. Go hide away from the crowds in the pastry shop in France, etc.

With that in mind, it's maybe a half day for us.

I can and have spent a whole day in the World Showcase. My DH and I spent our anniversary there last year.

As PPs have said, it really depends. If you enjoy exploring, sampling different food and drink, looking at art and architecture and gardens, travelogue style films, cultural performances, and shopping, you'll probably not going to be able to get enough of the World Showcase. As a kid I definitely remember really enjoying the Japanese department store and the acrobatic shows (though I'll admit I found the films boring until I got older). I also loved Maelstrom but I'm cool with the Frozen ride, too.

How much time would you allocate for the world showcase? Due to ADR’s we won’t be stopping to try food/drinks, but would check out some stores as we go.
We would also have our 2 girls (10,8)
I think this also depends on when you are going? Depending on the time of year there is a lot more to do around the World Showcase. For example, around the holidays, most countries have storytellers that educate and entertain about how their country celebrates the holidays.

My husband could spend the entire trip in Epcot world showcase. My kids are a little harder to entertain (my little one just wants to go on the fast rides). I personally would not recommend it as your first day activity- for my kids, I think they need something more what they expect as day one. If I did Epcot then, it would be the worst park ever but if I do later when the must do rides has toned down a little, it could be a favorite (the food and the crafts). When I went like 8 years ago, they had this cute passport to buy, with stickers and we got it stamped in each world and the cm told my dd all about their homeland. That was way fun.

We spend a day to a day and a half in WS and if it is during holiday time possibly 2 days to also get the storytellers in.

I could spend weeks in world showcase and never be bored.
ABSOLUTELY!:)

Anyone who says "Disney World is just for kids!" has OBVIOUSLY never set foot in the most Magical part of the Most Magical Place On Earth!!!!:)

I would like to LIVE in World Showcase!lol:)

We spent quite a bit of time there in June, especially because we were with a group of friends! It’s definitely a great place to explore and hang out!! We got pretzels and beer in Germany and enjoyed watching the fireworks from over there. Take a little bit of time and enjoy the sites and surroundings! You won’t be disappointed!

I could do the same ! DW tells me o would love there if I could !

My kids are 15, 13 and 10; WS is their favorite place in all of the parks. We typically stay at BWI, Dolphin or YC, just so we can utilize our time better for Epcot. It’s fascinating, and never the same. I’d plan on a min of several hours just to soak in the uniqueness of WS.

World Showcase is best enjoyed over multiple trips using park hoppers. 3-4 countries at a time. For longer trips, it's where we find ourselves adding extra time. It's such a nice change of pace over the chaos that can occur when people try to squeeze in as many rides as possible.

We will be there the last week of November, so definitely will have holiday stuff going. Will that add a lot more stuff for each country?

World Showcase is the first thing that made me want to come back to WDW again and again. There's so much to explore and you can do it at whatever pace interests you. Not to mention so many interesting snacks (especially if there's a festival going on). That makes it hard to plan if you want to map your vacation itinerary in detail. Depending on the length of your visit, I'd set aside at least a half day and be prepared to move faster if you get bored... or even revisit it again if you love it and want more.

Personally, I think it will. I love the world showcase during the holidays. Most countries will have storytellers that last 10-15 minutes. Also, each country has a few holidays specific treats. I would suggest trying to see the candlelight processional with the dinner package. It’s an awesome experience. I would make sure you stay one night to see illuminations. The holiday version is the best on property imho. The storytellers not to miss are Norway, UK, Italy, France, and I like the mariachis in Mexico. We go almost exclusively over the holidays and I easily spend parts of 4-5 days in Epcot.

The 2 times I have gone there, I probably spent 8 hours in Future World and 4 in World Showcase. But now since they have FEA and are adding new attractions, I feel like that time might become longer. Also, I have never been there during there festivals if that helps any.

I can't find enough to keep me interested in FW for more than 3 or so hours, and even less in the WS. Maybe I've been there too often?

That's a great suggestion. Even for people who really enjoy WS I think it can all run together if you try to cram too much into one trip. I also think you can do much better with older kids. Not that little kids can't have fun there, but they're likely going to want more MK type entertainment. Of course really young children in strollers can doze off and let the adults relax and take their time.:)

During my first visit, I hopped to Epcot every day, especially since they also had Food & Wine Festival going on and savored every pavillian's video and show. Now, having seen it all, I probably spend maybe 6 hours there now on a typical 4-5 day trip, assuming there's no festival. But Epcot also serves a nice function as an adult hangout. Guests gather for hours at the Crown & Rose for a tipsy evening, just as they would at their local in old London with their mates. And though there are no rides in Germany, I caught up with old friends sharing a big pretzel and saying "prost" while raising up our "zwei Biere" served up by the cute barfrau. And with other people, can really start digging and appreciated the Disney details that you never notice on a quick solo romp through WS.

But on that first visit, I think everything is new and there's a lot to try out... and that's worth slowing down and being flexible for.

WS has been one of my favorite places in the world since I was about 7. Our last trip we spent about 6 hrs there and only spent any time of consequence in Mexico, Norway, China, and the Good Ole U.S. of A.

We love WS, and the shop in Japan is my kids' favorite store, hands down, on the planet. If your kids enjoy Pokemon, Hello Kitty, or any other Japanese based animated show, they'll want to shop.

We park hop and eat at WS every night. It's the best when you have a late dinner, and walk back once it starts to clear, right before the fireworks start.
