how much time did you actually spend at the resort?

We spend very little time at the resort. Even with the kids, we are on the go. We sleep there at night, ocassionally nap there or use the pool, but that is very little. We have stayed at deluxe, moderate and value. For the most part, we spend the days in the parks, except when we stayed at AKL. We hung around the resort a little more, but there was more stuff to do there, tours/activities etc.

If you are wanting to save money, go with the value.

I spend little time at the resort so I don't mind staying in a value or a mod if I can afford it. Though when staying at a mod, I try to at least spend a little time at the resort.

Ooh, the new ASMu rooms look nice. Wonder if they'll do the same for Movies and Sports?

I spend about half my time at the parks and about half my time at the resort, so the resort is important to me. But I have also stayed at all levels, value, mod, deluxe, and DVC and had great trips.

If you are looking for romance, I would go with a moderate, because you can book a king bed guaranteed, which you can't at the values (at the values, it's a request only). The moderate resorts are also more romantic when it comes to late night and early morning strolls. The carriage rides at PO can also be romantic. The boat from PO to DTD can be convenient for an adult only trip as well.

You will have some noise no matter which resort you pick. I would recommend requesting a top floor room to help reduce noise. Some of the noisiest resorts I've been in were deluxe resorts (people seem to talk and yell just as loud in interior hallways as they do outdoors).
