Hi. I originally posted this on The Uk board with various answers,So I thought Id bring it here too!!
How much spends for 2 weeks will I need?

Me,DW and 2 DDs Staying offsite, counter service lunches in parks Evening meal a couple of Disney restaurants rest either off site restaurants/take away same with breakfast either in room or buffet style thing before hitting parks

All tickets etc will be purchased already along with car hire etc

At the moment Im working on $400 a day but not using a CC at all will we be OK? 2 DDS have their own daily allowance seperatly for gifts etc,

Will $400 a day be enough any input greatly appreciated,Thanks IAN

Sounds like a good, generous amount to me! My family of three usually gets by with far less than that...but we're real cheapskates, so maybe that's not much help. :)

If what you are asking is :

"IS $400.00 a day enough for food for my DW and 2 DD's and I ?" Then I would answer with a resounding "YES!" That should be PLENTY of money for that!
Have you checked out the menus at www.wdwig.com ? Go there and you can see what's available for food at counter service and sit down restauraunts in WDW and how much it will cost. You'll get a pretty good idea of how much you will need. Also- know that WDW prices will be inflated compared to what you will spend offsite- so any money you spend offsite on food will more likely then not be LESS then what you would spend at WDW. DO you know where you want to eat offsite?

didn't notice how old your sons are but if they were teens and had normal teen boys' giant appetites that would add a whole new spin to this ! other wise, if the kids have their own spending money I think that's "plenty" bordering on "too much" ! for 2 adults we have about 100 a day for food and 100 each for the trip for souveniers ( not big shoppers)

edited cause I just reread and saw they are girls! plenty for sure then!

Thanks for the help everyone
We are going to eat offsite at-

Sweet Tomatoes
Tony romas
Wild Jacks(DEF!!)
Another barbeque one which escapes mind-Barbeque pit-Tonys??
Un decided Chinese buffet-Any Advice?

And the only one we really wantto do at Disney is Bomas I think its caled at Animal Lodge,Sorry for terible memory!!

Im glad the $400 a day sounds OK because we dont really want to watch pennies Its our first foreign holiday in 7 years...

Any advice on these restaurants is greatly appreciated,IAN

You should do okay with $400 a day! (unless you ask me to tag along with you! ;) ).

Bomas is at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I haven't been their for their dinner buffet, but I can say their breakfast buffet is excellent. Give yourself alot of time there because not only is the restaurant great, but you'll want to take some time to explore the whole lodge.

also make sure you make a ps for Bomas since I read you can't tour the hotel without a PS for one of the restaurants unless you are staying there (unless someone else know different, I got this from a book)

Boma's was wonderful! We stayed at AKL two years ago and ate there several times. We are going again at Christmas time, and DH and I agreed that we have to make sure to go back! The food is interesting and mostly awesome- they have enough "normal" food if you or someone with you isn't very adventurous. Enjoy your holiday!!

One piece of advice I can give you is to check your Airlines required per luggage bag wieghts. And what it will cost for over wieght or extra bags on your return flight.

American Airlines have lowered the wieght to 50 pounds and you are allows 2 bags per person.

Now I said all this, to say,

How will you get $2800.00 worth of Disney souvenirs home??

I think With Virgin your allowed more than that,But!! Im not planning on buying $2,800 dollars of Disney souviniers!! (How do you spell that word!!) well be buying clothes as well, but I take your point!!
Thanks everyone Bomas sounds great and never mind the plain food Im gonna be adventurous!!

I thought tink2dw meant eating at all those places would make everyone weigh more than allowed ( I must be really tired)

someone someplace also mentioned (since it's "goodies" ..can't spell the "s" word either...and not flab you are talking about,) you can have disney ship it home to you, don't know how expensive that would be or how long it might take to get it , although it might be a nice boost to relive the trip when the box came!
