How much perfume/cologne is enough?

What about perfumed washing powder etc. for clothes?

I usually use the non scented detergent to wash clothes with but I do use a light scented liquid fabric softener for the rinse cycle as I don't machine dry a lot of my clothes and it helps with the static cling.

I wear perfume/cologne almost everyday. That being said- a dab on the wrist or behind the ears OR a spray/walkthrough. It is a small pleasure to myself to wear it daily. IMO, waiting for those "special occasions" is such a denial of enjoying a wonderous thing. A Life is too Short........

Note: I was at a local mall once at opening time. Got to Hollister no more than 5 minutes after they opened and witnessed all the employees spritzing cologne everywhere. It was disgusting and yes, after 5 minutes I had a headache.

We have a teacher aide who wears so much, we look at each other and say, "Pam's here," before she even makes it to our hallway. I need to open my windows every time she leaves the room. It's really bad. I tried telling her in casual conversation how sensitive I am to scents/perfume, but she didn't realize I was talking about her. I'm going to have to be direct, but she's so sweet and sensitive. No matter how I say it, it's going to hurt her feelings.

I use a lightly scented lotion at home but my hand lotion at work is unscented. I'm sensitive to many strong scents so I try to not do what I find repellant on some others.
I used to date a man who wore a cologne I just loved. While the relationship didn't last, I still love that cologne. I recently bought a bottle and spray it in my bathroom, which now smells wonderful.:rotfl:

Back in the dark ages when I first married, my husband wore Brut. He was a truck driver and I loved that his pillow smelled like Brut even when he wasn't home. I have fonder memories of the cologne than him, lol.

I can relate to those who posted about being in confined spaces with others wearing too much perfume. If I step into an elevator after someone wearing heavy scents has exited I get a headache, my eyes burn and my nose hurts. When I was still working I would have to leave early for the day when someone wore heavy perfume even in our huge open room workspace. Too much perfume or cologne (one of our worst offenders was a young man) can aggrevate asthma also.

And to make this thread Disney related....
I always skip the shop in Norway (Epcot) where they sell the perfume, lol.

I like for a women to wear it, I want to smell it if I get close to her neck

I will never again complain about someone wearing too much perfume/ cologne. There was a lady at work that wore way too much perfume. A lot of people complained. One day she finally stopped wearing the perfume. She stunk really bad. It was terrible. The heavy cheap perfume was a lot better than her stinking. She was finally fired not over her stinking but calling off too much.
